Thought we would get this one started nice and early since it could be a pretty big game given our 4 new signings may potentially all be on the field together for the first time.

The Good news: Nagamoto should be available and Wes is expected make his long awaited return from injury

The Bad news: More Injuries! Lucio is out for up to a month and with Cafe and Samuel also injured that leaves us with just 2 healthy CBs: Ranocchia and Materazzi. Also Cambiasso is expected to miss 1-2 weeks with a hamstring strain and Deki is still on the sidelines too

Given the players available I wouldn't be surprised to see something like this:

    -------------JC-------------
    Maicon--Frog--Matrix--Chivu
    ---Zanetti---Motta---Kharja
    -----------Sneijder----------
    --------Pazzini---Eto'o------

Bari are dead last and almost certain for the drop, they have only won 3 games all season, 3 points is a must in this game to continue climbing up the ladder and also start gathering some momentum before the Bayern tie.

curious to see if leonardo switches chivu to CB this time. with ranocchia and materazzi, pace might be critical. but then again i don't know how bari plays on their turf

At the moment Bari are bottom of the league.

I think they'll shock the world, and beat Inter 3-0.:)

    Okaka hat trick.:)

I do expect Chivu to be played in the middle. CB is his natural position after all and he's been saying that he wants to play more central.

Is it confirmed that Sneijder will be available? If he is, that will make for interesting choices in formation and personal.

As of now, I foresee this

    -----------JC----------
    Maicon-Rano-Chivu-Naga
    --Kharja-Motta-Zanetti--
    ---Pazzini-Milito-Eto'o---

If Sneijder is available, put him in for Kharja.

    He is indeed

APPIANO GENTILE - Leonardo has named 22 players in the match-day squad for the Serie A 2010/11 Week 23 game away to Bari, scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday 3 February, at the Stadio San Nicola (20:45).

Defenders: 4 Javier Zanetti, 13 Maicon, 15 Andrea Ranocchia, 23 Marco Materazzi, 26 Cristian Chivu, 36 Simone Benedetti, 55 Yuto Nagatomo, 57 Felice Natalino.

Midfielders: 8 Thiago Motta, 10 Wesley Sneijder, 14 Houssine Kharja, 19 Esteban Cambiasso, 20 Joel Obi, 29 Philppe Coutinho, 48 Lorenzo Crisetig.

Hmm, Crisetig received a call, huh? I wouldn't mind seeing him get some playing time for the senior team. He's definitely one of our most promising youngsters.

Out of the players available I am seeing this line up:

    ---------------------Julio Cesar-----------------
    Maicon-------Ranocchia-----Chivu--------Zanetti
    ----------Motta--------------Cambiasso---------
    --------------------Kharja----------------------
    ----------Pazzini-------------Etoó--------------
    --------------------Milito-----------------------

And even though we are the much better team on paper, all form goes out the window when we go to Bari. We struggled there 2 years ago when they had Barreto in top form up front and Bonucci playing alongside Ranocchia who were coming up on loan. Both of them have since left, but don't think this will be an easy game.

The Sao Paolo always gets up for when Inter come to town, so I am hoping we can squeeze out the three point. Hopefully Chivu takes on some added responsibility as he will most likely play as the leader in the back four with Zanetti.

The strength of this team however lies in the team dynamic. All of these players besides Ranocchia and Kharja have been played out of their normal roles at some point, therefore most of them know how to handle it.

As far the attack goes.. I can't see Sneijder starting as he is just getting back from injury as well as Coutinho considering this is an away game as well as his performance last time out. I see Motta and Cambiasso directing play with Kharja a little further forward a la how he played 2nd half versus Palermo, with Pazzini, Milito, and Etoó firing on all three sides.

I will be at work during this game.. hoping for a win. Will catch the replay on ESPN 3 and comment later tomorrow evening.

    FORZA REGAZZI!! FORZA NERAZURRI!!!!!!!!!!!!

Personally I hope we rest Cambiasso for Roma this weekend.

this game has now another incentive, all of the teams ahead of us have either drawn or lost
    Milan 0-0 Lazio
    Chievo 2-0 Napoli
    Roma 1-1 Brescia
as well as right behind us
    Udinese 1-1 Bologna
    Palermo 2-1 Juventus

Getting all 3 points here will really help us out not only in the league, but as added morale on sunday vs Roma

looks like the case for today
    -------------JC------------
    Miacon--Frog--Matrix--Chivu
    ------Motta----Zanetti-----
    -----------Kharja-----------
    ---Pazzo---Milito---Eto'o----

basically mara's formation just with Matrix as CB, Chivu as LB and Zanetti in midfield

    Subs: 21 Orlandoni, 10 Sneijder, 19 Cambiasso, 20 Obi, 27 Pandev, 29 Coutinho, 55 Nagatomo.
Notice that Luca is not on the list

We can play better than this, I'm interested in seeing what leo proposes to change, bring in sneijder and pandev or change up the shape, Motta is playing too deep

Kharja has had very few touches, and both Milito and Pazzo have had very little activity

Maicon with 2 good opportunities have been the only real chances for Inter

Yeah I caught the first half and it was pretty lackluster from Inter's perspective. You guys are definitely lacking a #10/attacking midfielder right now without Sneidjer, as Kharja seems hesitant in possession and eager to distribute the ball backwards or horizontally, which doesn't do any good since Motta and Zanetti aren't attacking players.

Yeah, problem is sneijder has been out for a month and no one wants him to get re injured

Motta is not solely a defensive player, he is playing defensively in this game but he really can combine well and shoot in the 3/4s and last quarter of the field. Honestly I think if Leo tells him to move up , we'll see Kharja, Pazzo and milito get more involved in the game

The worry for me is the lack of intensity in our game. That seems to have been the case these last few games, winning aside. We seem to have many ball watchers in the field, i.e. not enough players seeking and filling open spaces. Let us hope this changes in the second half.

From Julio Cesar´s outfit, you could swear they are playing at temperatures of -40 celcius.

Yes, that spark , pace whatever you call it, its needed

to add to your statement, I think part of the reason why is Zanetti
Im not bad mouthing him or anything, just that I think he would be more effective as LB keeping things under control, a topic that has been repetitive for the last couple of seasons

And now Chivu sets himself up for a 3-game suspension if video evidence is used against him as was done with Eto'o. What an unnecessary foul.

They seem to be working harder for an equalizer than we are for the second...all the same, Sneijder made a huge difference. And let's not forget Cesar!
