Palermo (Pink jersey's and all), Livorno & Cagliari are set to move up to B next year. Two more teams are set to move up, with the 6th place team set to play Perugia for the final spot. Next year, Seria A will have 20 teams instead of 18. Messina & Atlanta are almost set to make it to Seria A as well. Fiorentina is currently in 6th place with Piacenza 3 points behind. There are 2 more days left. I'm hoping to see Fiorentina back in A, as I'm sure the Italian feduration is too. We all know how Fiorentina jumped to B this year without actually qualifying for it......welcome to Italy!

BTW, Ancona, Modena & Empoli are the team relegated to Seria B.

It would be good for Italian Football and I would love to see Batistuta return to the club he stared for so many years.

    Keep us updated

Palermo has continued to be the "white-horse" up until their promotion. I really interested to see how this team does and if they can re-kindle with the A league just like Sampdoria managed to do.

Will we be seeing one last year of Zola with Cagliari next year?

I think they already have a team who should avoid relegation without problems.

Zamparini has a lot of money, rumours say he is trying to get Gilardino... don't know if he will succeed but the news gives an idea of what zamparini has in mind.

If I was a Palermo fan I wouldn't be worried.

p.s. Relations between Palermo fans and Cagliari fans have been super-friendly all the season (you know, ppl visiting respective message boards and congratulating, lots of compliments and so on...)

He said he has to think about it and decide... asking to respect his choice whatever it will be.

For all the cagliari fans this was a worrying statement... and there's a lot of discussions about it in Cagliari message boards.

We all hope he will stay but whatever he will decide we'll still say thanks Gianfranco.

p.s. for those interested here are some Cagliari message boards (italian)

La festa - (and the pitiful conditions of the stadium can be clearly seen, something the Municipality and Cagliari Calcio have to work on before next season begins...)

He was playing in Qatar. He has told the Argentine media that he would like to play next term with Fiorentina again. It's speculation but if Fiorentina make it back to Serie A I would love to see it happen. Anywhere is better than Qatar......maybe not anywhere.

Will he be able to cut it in the Serie A again, even if just as a sub?

He won't be the same Batistuta but he could be just as good as Baggio has been the past few years, so not bad. Had four goals in a game in Qatar ..... granted it is still Qatar. He wants to play in the Olimpics so watch for him there.

The game doesn't start until 2:30pm EST today so there's really not much to report on.

    Amen!

I was happy to see them promoted. I hope they can manage to stick around in the expanded Serie A for years to come.
