    Just in terms of dollars to contribution it would be a big gamble. He hasn't shown the consistency that could demand the salary he would probably ask for. It would be similar to the Khari situation where you have a reasonable player who is simply making too much money to justify keeping them on.

    Also not sure the Quakes have the need for a passer to play through balls. That doesn't play to the strength of our starting line forwards. They are all target men of one kind or another, picking off close range shots. They are not that great at finishing shots from distance or beating keepers one on one.

    No, why do you want an overpaid headcase? You want to destroy the lockerroom for a player who doesnt produce consistently?

    Solely based on today's game vs Houston, I think Tommy did reasonably well as CM and DaSilva had several good shots. I like Robstad who played solid LB and had speed to go forward a few times. Suma...not impressed.

    From what I saw, the level of play was not really professional. Actually, it didn't even resemble college ball. I know its the first game and many are rookies and 2nd year players but shouldn't professional players show more that what they did?

    The announcers appeared to have it wrong and it was Alex Emerson.

    J. Alexandre Gonzalez Emerson ( I know I am jumping in a bit late, here) Just though I would help with some of the name confusion. Alexandre Gonzalez (Emerson is mother's name, which is the last, last name- per Mexican custom)

    OK, lots to do.
    1. We lose Dawkins. This opens up a roster and INT slot. As far as I can tell we still own his MLS rights since we did make a bid for him, and did not receive an allocation, similar to what happened when Cakes left the team. Here is what the MLS rules say:
    2. Corrales remains on the roster (note removed), and is added to our coaching area.

    3. Garza's number changed to 17.

    4. Robert Jonas cited Doyle as saying terms were agreed with Dan Gargan and Ty Harden. I am adding them with a note.

    5. Trialists List:
    Henrik Robstad (D) (Norway) {12/5/91}
    Abu Tommy (M) (Sierra Leone) {10/13/89}
    Sean DeSilva (M) (T&T) {1/17/90}
    Lamin Suma (M) (Sierra Leone) {7/14/91}
    Peter McGlynn (M) (Ireland) {5/2/89}
    Coiin Mitchell (F/M) {10/18/90}
    Donny Toia (F) {5/28/92}
    Adam Jahn (F) {1/5/91}
    Jesus Alexandre Gonzalez Emerson (F) {10/2/92}
    Matt Fondy (F) {7/28/89}

    Uh, no, we're not. We are PLAYING Antigua this year. Any MLS team which didnt partner with a USL team has to play a USL side twice this year. We and FC Dallas lucked out by each playing once against the same team.

    We are not partnering with Antigua. We are partnering with no team this year.

    Sigh. No, we are paired with them, which just means our reserves will play them a couple times. Please read that again.

    Formal partnerships are listed in the section above the one your looking at.

    Wish they were in this year instead of next but I think their pitch needs a little work before they start.
