Any Gutierrez deal was dead i thought. Couldnt negotiate the release from the club and he runs out of contract in the summer.

While Corrales probably cant manage big minutes he shouldnt need to. I think hes going to be used as backup for Morrow.

I think Adam Smith was just loaned to Millwall.

He's been there awhile. The question was what would happen when that loan expired.

Yeah, like the way it was last season. Corrales mostly filled in for other players (and played very well at times doing so). He can still be useful in stretches.

Better options at back-up LB? Not so sure about that...

I agree that Ramiro needs to retire. I mean I know he can still play the game and create chances and assists now and then and maybe even score an occasional goal here and there and I also know its hard to say goodbye to the game but there is no stopping father time. John Doyle and Troy Dayak all knew when it was time to quit so don't know why he just doesn't want to give it up. Maybe make him a coach and "fugetaboutit"! ;)

That's OK. We should sign his cousin, Jose Cuervo, instead anyway.

He did reasonably well in the 1 reserve game I attended. He had a powerful shot and held the ball well. Body type is a like a taller version of Mulrooney....if you know what I am saying.

Now I'm reading online that Khari is in camp and Ramiro will come back and play his 18th year and Bryan Jordan is still trying iron out his contract. With all the injured bodies and national team players, I'm thinking the only players training right now are the draft picks and the trialists along with a few other vets. Wondering if they even have 23 players available for scrimmaging?

we should be good, they may bring in a few more local college kids to fill the numbers that werent taken in the supp. Surprised to see Khari still here, maybe hes willing to take a big paycut

Yeah he made $200k last year. You know he didn't do that badly but he faded at times.

I'm not a cap expert by any means but I believe they will probably give Ramiro $50k -$70k to be a coach and then maybe another $100k or so to be a player in a player-coach type role. Can't imagine they would be paying him another contract worth $183k against the salary cap.

good news, defense got shored up in a big way there. I still wonder if Harden is up for it after being benched by a porous TFC defense. Im okay if hes our number four guy i think and Muller is our number three. Gargan is a plenty servicable number two right back.

If Simon doesn't come back, can we look at Freddy Adu? I can see a role for him as a late game sub coming into the center mid/forward spot and taking on defenders to unlock bunker defenses. Of course he'd have to agree to a much reduced salary, but maybe he would to stay in MLS. We'd lose defense, but he can thread the needle with passes in tight spaces and has a decent freekick with his left. As a 15 minute player, he could be explosive....

    Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo...

The strength of the team last year was the team. A player like Adu who has had such an up and mostly down career....A reduced role won't cut it... He would be unhappy...The potential upside versus the downside makes this an easy decision.

we are one of the few teams that makes sense honestly besides Portland and Dallas when i look at it. Im not so sure Portland has the cap room either. I wouldnt be interested unless Philadelphia bit at least 50 percent of the cap bullet. at least 50 percent. we get him down to around 100-175K im interested. Phili is gonna have to play ball sooner or later unless they want to be severely cap tied this season. They can either be severely cap tied, or really cap tied. Its up to them. Id like him as competition for Baca, though im not sure our FO gives it the dignity or the pleasure

This USL partnership might turn into a good deal but where is Antigua?
