Trying to tell people on this forum that R10 has been good this season is like beating a dead horse people have there blinders on. A big part of Vagner loves success this season is due to R10.

Yes, they probably expect him to turn up for training! Not much to ask, eh?

Most of the training that R10 has missed were club authorized. The fans that don't know this automatically assume that R10 is just slacking off and not showing up. This is not true. For example, the last training he missed the day before the Emelec game was club authorized and in fact encouraged for muscle relaxation period.

If Ronaldinho had any decency left, he would retire from the National Team. Zagallo said it right, in his good days Ronaldinho was a 30m player.

And why do we need Ronaldinho who can only really play as a half ass left-winger when we now have Neymar in that position ? Ronaldinho won't play in the midfield. That would be a disaster.

Not suggesting he starts I just want him coming off the bench in a tie game when creativity is lacking when you can let him roam free and look for a great pass. You have to have a back up plan especially when a team is playing a bunker hoping for a draw or penaltys. No one here was even suggesting Ronaldhino should start. If Mano doesnt trust or rate Kaka obviously Ronaldhinos going to be on the team unless you guys want alex or coutinho backing up Ganso.

Yes, I saw that. What precisely does he mean by a 30 metre player?

Ronaldinho Gaucho, in nearly a 100 games for Brazil, has rarely been 'The Man' and, at 32, is unlikely to be now. I agree that if you wanted someone to nail a free kick then there a few better, but Rivelino at 66 could still nail one! We need more than a dead ball specialist and unfortunately be it wealth, laziness, a desire for women more than football, a desire for music more then football, a dislike of training, he is not what he was and, I repeat, he has rarely been great or very good for Brazil.

It's a dig at his lack of mobility on the field. Later in Romario's career he was also criticized for playing in a box of 10m. But at least he was a striker and could get away with it to a certain extent.

Because he can't even pass that well anymore. He is very inconsistent. At least when I've been able to watch him play.

Yes I thought he meant that.

Romario was often a player who let the game come to him but in the 1994 Copa was very mobile and running from deep towards goal (as he was in that 1993 WCQ x Uruguay the year before - to think he only played because Muller was injured).

forgot about the bosnia friendly, since in the previous friendly against gabon in late november, luiz gustavo was cut from the team due to injury.

with that said, he's still a player in the picture, especially given his versatility in midfield.

Not the case......he could not prove he had the necessary vaccinations so joined up only for the Egypt game.

Ok, I've watched a ton of Benfica games this season. Artur deserves a shot to show what he's got. IMO, he's head and shoulders above JC at this point in time, and Jefferson hasn't shown anything spectacular. Benfica fans rave about him and he forced Portugal's #1 goleiro to the bench the entire season.

if helton never got a fair shot coming out of portugal, chances are King Artur will be overlooked too...and if memory serves, helton never did anything wrong the few times he was called up.

Julio Cesar was emerging as a world class GK at the time though.

I don't rate Artur that highly.. I rather Jefferson and Rafael.

true - but during the Dunga era, i would have him as Cesar's backup than Gomes or Doni....i'm sure there's a story there...

I'm just sorry that this one didn't get in... It's his next objective, to score a bicycle kick goal.

Who does everyone want as a forward off the bench? We already know Leandro and Neymar will be starting plus we're set for wingers. I'm just curious who the bench options will be. Hopefully not jonas, I think Mano is going to take either Fred or Vagner love on this summer tour.

Fabiano if healthy would be a perfect player to come off the bench. I also happen to think Hulk would be a terrific Forward and has previously played as one in his career.

It has been a horrible year in Europe for Brazilian goal scorers. Of the top 4 leagues, only 1 Brasileiro is among the Top 10 in goals scored. And that is Nene in France, which could be argued to have fallen behind the Bundesliga and Portuguesa Liga in terms of talent.

But who deserves a call-up? Fred and Vagner Love deserve to be in consideration as you mentioned, but who else is there? Does Lima out of Braga deserve one? Not many options IMO.

For the first time in our history, we are very light in the forward spot.
Unfortunately our choices are limited at this time.

    - Pato who was a definate as we all know is injury prone, and I mean repeatedly.
    - Hulk, is a decent alternative off the bench for all he has accomplished in the Portuguese league, but unfortunately not so much on the NT.
    - Although I woud love to see Love back on the NT but I think had his chance and did not work.
    - Jonas - forget it.
    - Fred- definately deserves a call up.

IMO - the way he has been playing, scoring goals, his hunger, his drive, his strenght, his tallent - LUIS FABULOSO

But knowing Mano, it may be Fred.

These kids' talent is simply fantastic. Brilliant. And it's a joy to watch. But I reckon that the defenders they will face when they don Brazil's NT jerseys will be rougher. Imagine if a Catanduvense fullback tackled Neymar and put him out of commission for 1 year. I don't to imagine the heat Catanduvense's management would get from the much wealthier and more powerful & influential Santos cartolas. Forget about possibly even people in CBF's halls of power.

And starting on May 1, some of South America's most violent defenders will face Neymar and Ganso come the Libertadores round of 16. They too will offer stiffer opposition than Catanduvense.
