Okay, so the Red Bull U-16s surrendered 5 leads in 3 games, winning none of them?

What was the silver lining again?

    Trezeguet is most definitely Argentinian.

His parents are Argentinian and so are his grandparents. In fact, his only family link to France is his paternal great-grandfather, who emigrated to Argentina in the 1800s.

Trezeguet was born in France because his father, an Argentinian professional soccer player, just happened to be playing with Rouen at the time. But after two years David and his family moved back to Argentina. He grew up in Buenos Aires and went through the youth system of Platense, where he also made his debut as a professional.

He went back to France and joined Monaco at age 17, but he had to learn to speak French. Even today he prefers to give interviews in Spanish, and he has stated that he feels more Argentine than anything else.

He was not as Higuain wasn´t neither. Higuain could become Argentinian because his father was naturalized as a Frenchmen before he was born. Trez parents were not

Perhaps you should read my previous post once again.

Both of Trezeguet's parents are Argentinian. Even though he was born in France he was born with Argentinian citizenship regardless.

This quote comes from an article on him (translated from Spanish):

No he became a French citizen and did not become Argentinian because he was born abroad. If he wanted to become Argentinian he should have waived his French nationality which offcourse he would never do.

The same happend to Higuain but he could become Argentinian without losing his French nationality because his dad was French before he was born

    OK, I see now.

Argentina recognizes dual citizenship with a handful of countries -- and France isn't one of them.
    http://www.justlanded.com/english/argentina/tools/just_landed_guide/visas_permits/citizenship

So when he chose French citizenship at age 17 he lost his Argentine citizenship as a consequence.
    http://www.genargentina.com.ar/Glosario/leyes_ciudadania.htm

However, you are only partially correct, since France recognizes dual nationality, and chosing Argentina would not have cost him his French citizenship.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_citizenship#Dual_Citizenship

And on the previous page you said that Trezeguet was never Argentinian, which is false. All children born abroad to Argentinian parents automatically receive Argentinian citizenship. So Trezeguet was an Argentine until the age of 17, when he chose France.

I think he may be back with his club team, Sporting Santa Clara. I believe the trial was 3 weeks long.

I found this back in May

Aha, But then most Argentians have roots from somewhere I guess...Trezeguet is a french name from Lot-et-Garonne so we can argue that the family are back in their homeland again I guess.

Re: 13 Year Old Yank gets West Ham Trial

I said he could not play for Argentina as he was not Argentinian(when he started to represent an country) this is correct.

If Higuain´s dad was not a French before he was born he could not keep his French nationality and become Argentinian. He was never Argentinian before untill some months ago, so indeed its possible to not become Argentinian, even if you are born from 1 or 2 Argentinians parents

Our princess is not Argentinian and I know a couple who have British only children and the dad is Argentinian.

If you are born abroad you are NOT automatically Argentinian

No they are not, just when you declare them to the embassy of that country

I know various people who´s kids are born abroad, just for that reason

Re: 13 Year Old Yank gets West Ham Trial

    Hi all,
I play club soccer with Sebi and have known him for 2 years. First of all, he currently plays with me on the Santa Clara Sporting '92/'93 team. He will go to West Ham and play in their academy permanently after he turns 16. for the past year or so, he has been visiting England to play with the West Ham academy 2 or 3 times for a couple weeks each time. His name is pronounced yeh-get, but we just call hinm Sebi. He is an extremely good player, but I think he is different than Freddy Adu at this age. Freddy Adu was larger and faster than others his age. Sebi isn't, he is about 4-5th tallest and fastest on our team, however he has the best technical skills out of any player I've seen.

hope this helps clear up some stuff and if you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

I also posted this in the Sebastion Lletget forumn
