Well, maybe it's because Pott's dad played 399 games for West Ham. A player like that, provided he has the talent, will always be favored by the owners, the staff and the fans.

and Pott has played very well so far for someone 18 (?) years old.

The only game I've seen parts of was against Sunderland, where he was a disaster. But they appear to be sticking with him.

He was rated either first or second in their 1-0 loss to MU last week fwiw. Also in that game E Lee got his first minutes in the EPL, Lee is a striker and younger than Lletget. I believe Lee's father also played in the EPl. I still think lletget will make his debut sooner than later, unless WH continues it's run of bad play. I think they are like 2 wins 2 ties and 4 or 5 loses in their last 8 to 10 games

Why do a lot of people on these boards rush to find conspiracies when an American isnt playing?

Potts and Lee arent in the side because of their fathers, its because West Ham were struggling for full backs and strikers, which they now have addressed in the transfer window. Rob Lee's other son was released and is now at Barnet, so that shows how much sway he has.

The Carroll stuff mentioned earlier is bollocks too, just playing off his reputation. Fat Sam will try and sign him this summer, guaranteed.

If Lletget was ready, he'd be in the team. West Ham arent going down, they can afford to blood youngsters if they are good enough

It's called wishful thinking. People want Lletget to succeed. They think he's good even though they've barely seen him play.

I don't necessarily agree with you that West Ham can afford to "blood youngsters" right now. They're 7 points off the relegation zone. They have to keep fighting with the first team until they're safe. Once they're safe, perhaps they'll give Sebastian some game time. That's the hope.........................

On BS, if one knows how a Yank Abroad actually plays, he's probably (a) "too old" or (b) "not technical enough." But if one knows only that he exists and owns a pair of cleats, he's probably the next Messi, if only People Would Give Him a Chance!!!™

That's good news. When it comes to tracking a player's progress, a club's tangible investment in a player is worth a 1000 glowing puff pieces.

It would be nice to see an appearance or two. If he doesn't play, hopefully a loan will come about to a championship side.

At least he's still valued by West Ham even though he's not playing.

This fantastic news comes with a dark omen..... can't remember the last time we had a teenage (or early 20's) american make it in England.... so many injuries. So many. (thats also considering packwood and pelosi who I hope will break the trend)

Interesting.... yea. My GF's bro works for Google and has a place in SF (lives in singapore...but keeps the place for hwen he comes back to the US...the life). Out of curiousity we looked up how expensive property is... it's INSANE! A place the size of what we have now, it's basically a million in SF...

i live in SF and can confirm this. although, the bay area is quite large, and saying you're "from SF" could mean any number of outlying communities.
a one bedroom studio in my neighborhood runs around $2000-$3000. even in the poorest, most downtrodden areas, rent will still be well over $1000/person

Spector came thru relatively injury free.......................it was whoever stood in his way that ended up with a bad injury (hence the discussion of Spector's mom with the voodoo dolls)

Spectors career was certainly curtailed at a young age by injury. I think we all held out alot of promise for him before he had those (hip?) injuries in 2006 - 2008. I think Specs is a case where injury at a young age certainly didnt completely ruin him but sent him down a much less promising path.
