I got an email at work with this subject line promptly at 4:51pm EST:

“Own the limited edition Olympic Gold Medal Winners Tee”

Of course I taped the match but now I know who won and that it was finished in regulation time.

    Way to go Fed.

They didn't waste any time on the mass e-mail to buy stuff. For the first time ever they were on top of things.

I will be combing the TJ Maxx and Marshall's racks in October. It'll be $10 and no shipping. That's how I go both pieces of USSF gear.

Dude, you never should read your e-mails, text messages, or take any phone calls from anyone, while in "limbo" time waiting to go home and watch a recorded game (in which you don't want to know who won yet).

    You should have known that.

Sometimes people complain about spoilers that are sort of their own fault (like just stay away from ALL of Big Soccer during the above mentioned 'limbo'). But this one was bad because you didn't need to open the e-mail, it came from USSF and the subject line was
"Own the limited edition Olympic Gold Medal Winners Tee"

AS tacky as they are at trying to sell their merchandise literally seconds after the US women win Gold, for an olympic final and knowing that I get mail from USSF, I would totally just stay away from my email for eight hours or however long I'm going to be away from viewing the game and not take any chances. I remember when I tried to watch the archive streams during WPS games I missed, I would have to occlude my sight enough to where I could click on the link but not see the score in BOLD on the main website.

The USSF made a terrible move w/ that t-shirt thing. Tacky. Tacky. Tacky. I'm sure Nike 'made' them and since Nike pays most of the bills they did it. But I'm also guessing they might have to pay an IOC fine b/c Nike isn't an official Olympic sponsor.

Um, excuse me, I DIDN'T read my email. An MS Outlook popup just appeared on my desktop, on top of all of the opened files. Hard to miss.

You may realize that the reason I didn't see the match was because I was working, like most Americans. I, like many people, work on a computer. Hard to avoid that.
