http://www.goal.com/en/news/596/exc...iverpool-closing-in-on-wigan-midfielder-diame Goal saying we are looking to pick up Diame on a free. I like the idea. Kid could develop really well with the right players around him. But on 60k a week? Don't see the owners going that high for him.
More mediocre rubbish. Good thing that's a goal link and can't possibly be true. I wouldn't be shocked about Skrtel wanting out. Disappointed, but not shocked. He's a good player, but I don't know if the fact that Carra's sitting over him hurts a bit.
Would you really? Given the direction the club has been heading I wouldn't be surprised if players are thinking about other options.
Yeah I would be shocked. He doesn't strike me as a player who agitate for a move. It seems totally random. Other players maybe, but not him.
The Skrtel rumor apparently came from a goal.com article, which should point out its validity. http://www.goal.com/en-ng/news/596/...tun-liverpool-by-asking-for-anfield-exit-this
Well I rationalize it this way. He just played the best season of his Liverpool career after going through a pretty long spell of poor form. The club doesn't seem to be improving. Rather, it appears to be going the opposite direction. It could be the ideal time to angle for a move out. They have their own careers to think about as well.
What English team are you going to start supporting now? How long will you be able to stick it out with a midtable team when other Prem teams are in the Champions League? Sorry to have to tell you this but we are not Bayern Munchen. They have a bad season they can bounce back in a year as they are Liverpool, United and Man City rolled into one in the Bundaslinga. Our recovery is going to be a little longer and unfortunately a little less prestigious. We have won our first trophy in 6 years and legitimately qualified for Europe for the first time in 2 seasons.
Skrtyl doesn't strike me as that sort of player. Seems a bit more loyal than that. Therefore I'd be shocked if there were truth to these rumors.
It's pretty obvious I'm going to be supporting City from now on. And Liverpool may not be Bayern at the moment but that is exactly what they should strive to be.
We should probably be more like Dortmund. They'd made a lot of poor purchases and had a mountain of debt, but they turned it around and now have a (what looks to be) sustainable system using hungry, less pricey players. Also, Dortmund just won the domestic double.
Sure, its a good model to follow. Only I think our status is such where we don't have to come from such a position. We just need to make smart investments, consistency, stability on and off the pitch, and a coach with the right vision and the support to implement it. I hope Kenny is that man and that the conditions around him are such that we can back to where we actually belong.
Not a player but could be signing of the summer if he can get Riena back to his best and help the strikers finish like Torres did under his watch.
Rossi if he can find some fitness. He's certainly moving this summer, though it will be for pennies. He's not staying in La Liga B. I would think about Ruben, though on the cheap.
Borja Valero maybe? Would provide some creativity though he already flopped in his first attempt in the Prem.
The season has been over for about 30 hours or so. Must be time for the silly season. Is there anyone from the SPL worth looking at? What about the Danish league?
