http://www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/250460/Liverpool-s-7m-Rasmus-Elm-swoop/ Rasmus Elm for 7m? Is the Star a real source?
If there is a topless girl somewhere in the paper, I usually lean toward it being a crap source... for transfer news... But, a decent source for breasts, actually...
Yeah, well, I want someone as good as Suarez. We bought him, other players of his quality exist. I want that. I'm not settling anymore, either we make it to the top with what we have or we buy better. This isn't a horizontal club.
I have heard rumors about him from other sources, but none that I would generally consider reliable... A good player, though, from what I've read... Gaston Ramirez seems to be the vogue rumor lately...
Jeesus you again. He's one of the most creative players in the league...right.. If Dempsey wasn't an American, you wouldn't see his name here. He's not bad but I still don't think he's for Liverpool when there are so many more appropriate players for us. As for cheap, we know how that works out. Got a high school kid here who'd play for candy.
Has that high school kid scored 23 goals this year while also being voted the 4th best player in the prem?
Got the greatest respect for Dempsey, it's not easy to come to Engerland get that respect. It has to be earned. Not quite like Landycakes who found it easier to be a big fish in a "smaller" pond. All the reason's have been put out here for why he "probably" wouldn't work for us. But I still doubt there would be this much calling for "Why not Clint to Liverpool?" if he wasn't American. And like I say. "Not that there's anything wrong in that"
He has scored 'over' 23 goals. obviously hasn't played in the prem. But, and this is the best thing. He is American! You'd love him.
This should make soccerlexis happy http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/media-watch/clubcall-us-star-a-wanted-man
And I doubt you'd pooh-pooh what Dempsey has done in the Prem if he wasn't American. I'm not saying he's the answer, but we could do a lot worse than sign a guy who buries damn near every chance he gets. He's not very creative, per se, but neither was/is Dirk. For less than £10M, he'd be a bargain.
I sincerely doubt he will be cheap when it comes to his transfer fee. I sincerely doubt he will be cheap wage-wise either. Wingers for width please. Only the highest quality. I remember last season we really wanted Juan Mata in the transfer thread. He was bought for 23.5 million. How much did Downing cost? :HeadDesk: Of course how much is Downing being paid per week? How much is Mata getting? On Rasmus Elm, at one point he was considered to be Sweden's top youth talent, but two seasons of injuries, uneven play and lack of form (probably due to poor fitness) have put a damper on Sweden's hopes for his career. He captained their U-19 side. He's strong technically, but he didn't play much this season in the league. He made into half of the league matches, but 40 matches overall. But he played in almost as many Europa matches as League matches. He's supposedly one of the best free takers, I watched a game on a stream and he was fairly impressive in his set-pieces. He's a center-mid...I heard rumblings they're hoping he'll be the future replacement for Gerrard.
Please...Show me where I poo pooed Dempsey. Read before getting your red, white and blue, with stars, knickers in a twist.
I know it's only Goal.com, but it still makes me nervous: http://www.goal.com/en/news/596/exc...tun-liverpool-by-asking-for-anfield-exit-this
Extremely dodgy source, but after the way we've handled players' contracts over the last 3 years, I'll not be surprised at all.
That is not true. He averages 3.9 shots a game, the 4th highest in the Prem. The reason he is so prolific is because he shoots at every available opportunity. Not that this is a bad thing but we already have Suarez(3rd highest) who does this so our team is unlikely to get the best out of both players unless we alternate between the two. What our team needs is someone who is more clinical with the chances given.
Most of Suarez's efforts are created out of nothing by the man himself. Most of Carrolls's effort are snatched at. What our teams needs is someone else besides Gerrard to create more clear-cut chances.
It's not like Suarez tackles in our own half and single handedly skips past the opposition to take his shot. He may well do a lot himself but it is built on the teams sustained pressure in the opposition(the one thing we are top in the league at) half.
Team/OwnHalf/Middle/Opposition half 1 Liverpool 26% 41% 32% 2 Everton 27% 42% 31% 3 Wolverhampton 29% 42% 30% 4 Chelsea 27% 44% 30% 5 Manchester United 26% 44% 30% 6 Arsenal 25% 45% 30% 7 Queens Park Rangers 30% 42% 29% 8 Bolton 29% 42% 29% 9 West Bromwich 29% 43% 29% 10 Manchester City 25% 45% 29% 11 Aston Villa 29% 43% 28% 12 Stoke 29% 43% 28% 13 Norwich 29% 42% 28% 14 Tottenham 27% 44% 28% 15 Blackburn 33% 41% 27% 16 Wigan 29% 44% 27% 17 Sunderland 29% 44% 26% 18 Newcastle 29% 45% 26% 19 Fulham 29% 45% 26% 20 Swansea 31% 46% 22%
That's just showing teams allow us to have the ball knowing we can't do aught with it and then just hit us on the break-- even Man City did that [to us] to very good effect. We don't do much pressing.
The Skrtel rumour is getting stronger-- whether it's just regurgitating the gumpf from the internet or not is not clear.
