If there are two different tables, one that includes all the teams, and one that includes some smaller subset of those teams, there's nothing "single" about it.

The table includes all teams as seen on the BBC link.

MLS has a Supporters' Shield table at the end of the year that lists all the teams on a single table... So... If it is just a matter of listing all teams on thr same table to be "single table", then MLS is single table, right?

I sense logic. That is unacceptable on this thread.

If MLS were to decide its champion based on that table, then yes it would be a single table league.

So... Just to check.. You're totally okay with Hibernian and Aberdeen being ranked below Dundee United despite having more points?

I pointed this out on my first post on this, and yes I am. It's the use of the whole season's results that's the key to me and what distinguishes it from a playoff or multiple table system.

Except they aren't using the whole season's results. They are using 3/4 of the season's results, splitting off into separate tables and then finishing out the season.

No, the champions are decided by the whole season's results.

Not even you are dumb enough to believe that "single table" is about how the information is presented as opposed to, y'know, the actual format of the tournament

All things considered, if you were asked to say which format it most closely resembles, who would say it's more like American style play offs rather than single table?
