The defender had Jozy's shot blocked if he was not so afraid for the "Family jewels". He turned away at the last second to allow the shot to get by him.

Not that I would not have done the same thing. :)

    +rep!!!

Sickness!!! Josh seems to be getting good service and his confidence is really high. I hope that can transfer to the national team. Funny thing is, how many wind ups do we see Jim take that get blocked similar to this? Makes me think.

Exactly. It is his single most potent weapon IMO.

I have been wondering for the last 3 years where this damn thing went. Now I guess he found it again.

    Spectacular goal.

If his single most potent weapon shows up every 3 - 4 years, it's going to be a long seaon, or a short career.

Jozy picked up a knock in warmups before today's cup game and was pulled from the lineup. AZ won 4-2 but I can't find any news on the severity of Jozy's injury. Can anyone help?

AZ just don't want him to hit the quad too early and have it go to his head.

Yeah, he was scoring too many goals, too fast. They seriously needed to slow him down! :)

I can't decide between 1) Bob Bradley using his connections/influence to protect Mike's European scoring record for an American or 2) The vast and ultra-powerful anti-Adu network needed a new target after chasing Freddy back to the States :D

Its clearly a combination of the two as Bob Bradley was the head of the evil cabal that was keeping Freddy Adu down in the first place. Now he doesn't have to have a split interest on the continent anymore and can focus all of his energy on destroying Jozy Altidore.

What a fantastic start to the campaign for AZ. Hopefully they can keep it up and hopefully Jozy continues to be a starter. His production has dropped off a bit but they are still winning so why change anything?

Nope. He's currently on a 4 game scoreless streak in league play, but all of those have been AZ wins.

He has probably been figured out to a degree. I hope he can adjust.
