Well, I take a dirty, dirty victory over an beautiful loss any day the week. ^^
So I would be more than happy if we are somewhere in the top5 at the end of the season. After all we were third 10points before Hamburg just two years ago with a dreadfull attacking play.

getting iinto the europa league would be nice, however i dont think we have a real solid squad that can progress in all three competitions, but if anyone can do it its magath lol

I think we could see some major changes in the squad before next season starts. So there is in my mind no telling, what will happen then. I just hope that we can keep Kuranyi, Neuer and Höwedes.

For better or for worse, I think the chances of Kuranyi being around next season are slim to none.

we got lucky on both goals ;D
both were from counter attacks that lacked speed
the 1st one the bremen defense was caught sleeping and couldnt trail back
the second one was a lucky deflection, however kuranyi did create something out of nothing, kudos to him :)
u have to give magath some credit from trying something new vs a formidable team
he put rafinha in midfield to help the flow of the counter attack(my assumption)
however we still lacked speed when counter attacking, rakitic didnt really show anything or contributed much
good result for us though :D
    2-0 final score

    How now Königsblau? :D

The sooner Rakitic is gone, the sooner we can get more playing time for the various promising youngsters.

I thought we would rue the day we let Ozil go... today was not that day!!

What a group of youngsters in Gelsenkirchen:
Moravek: great chip today 20 years old
Holtby: what an assist to Kuranyi 19 years old
    Schmitz:21 years old
    Howedes: 21 years old
    Moritz: 19 years old
    Kenya: 19 years old
    Latza: 20 years old
    Plaitsikas: 21 years old
    Matip:18 years old
and my personal favorite: Zambrano: 20 years old

    the future of schalke
whats funny is we are second with 31 points
    1 behind leverkusen
another funny thing is that we are the team with most wins 9 lol

matip i wasnt very hapy with since he was pretty careless with his tackles
zambrano just needs more experience then he can really play RB
btw how was that man city game? 3-3?
man u lost to villa :D

    Neuer 23
    Rafinha 24
    Farfan 24
    Stevanovic 20
Maybe we get Mezquida, who is just 18.

Fantastic game from Schalke. Granted not so much from their attacking point of view but they utterly dominated Bremen's attack and thus controlled the whole match.

I think the first goal was no luck. That was a really nice attack all along after Kuranyi snatched the ball. The one-two to create space for Holtby in the center, his superb pass to Kuranyi and then the calm finish.
The second goal was somewhat lucky because Mertesacker's touch turned the shot into something Wiese could never reach. But there is no telling if Moraveks untouched shot wouldn't have scored in itself. Kuranyi's dribbling was nice, even so the defenders' passiveness helped. But there wouldn't be any goals in football if nobody made any mistakes.

Rakitic is slooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow. If he were one or two steps faster, he would be a really nice player.

they did an excellent job of disrupting bremen, in that essence they really dominated, via fouls or just taking the ball away
however the 1st goal bremen had a lapse, they tried a off side trap(obviously it didnt work)
and ur right, football with no errors wouldnt be football
the mistake of someone often creates the hapiness of the opponent and the fans

Ich auch! I have been having a difficult life experience for the last year (starting when I made the mistake of leaving the Ruhrgebiet)...so following this team has been a brilliant distraction!

awesome we are 1st with 33pts, if leverkusen draw or lose we stay there
the game at good moments but at other times both teams were locked in the midfield, schalke created more chances but couldnt put away any of them after the 1-0 goal by farfan
& omg kuranyi u had like 5 seconds to make that shot and ALOT of room
    redeem yourself mate!
    final score 1-0 schalke win

Anyone able to confirm this report from Goal.com:

Schalke’s Jermaine Jones has returned to training, but did not feature in Schalke’s 1-0 win over Mainz. Speculation is rife that he will make his comeback in Schalke’s January 17th match against Nurnberg in the first game after winter break.

Yes, he wasn't in the squad against Mainz.

Yes, he did return to training.

No, he won't be playing in January. He broke off the first training session because the leg still pains him. Reports are that he will return to the team in late January or February. In an interview Magath seemed to be more optimistic about Pander's return to the team than Jones, which frankly would put out Jones pretty much indefinitly.

Of course a miracle could happen and Jones returns in two weeks. But I wouldn't bet on it.
