EXCITING football today, and the Knappen have to be happy with a point having gone down 0-2. As has been pointed out, this was a classic example of what makes the Bundesliga so much fun...at least we got to see it on a delay.

yeah, very exciting match. While the pundents would have you thinking that only certain matches in certain Euro leagues matter, week after week we are watching great Bundesliga action.:)

Question here for Schalke fans. Anybody have any opinions on young Massih Wassey, striker playing with the reserves in the Regional League West? He was acquired this season from Preussen Muenster. He is pretty young and apparently could qualify to play for Canada so I am interested in any views on his potential.

    Thanks.

Wassey has appeared in every game for the Schalke reserves, has 3 goals in 12 appearances.

Good second half yesterday...now attention turns to the BIG game on Saturday with the Bayer Asprins. This matchup at the the Area has resulted in a LOT of goals in recent years.

I am a wee bit mad with Gol tv that their "premiere" of this weekend's match is not till Sunday morning.

I couldn't help but view the score and the way it got to it's conclusion. seemed another wild and wacky event.

yeah we had a mediocre 1st half, but the second half looked alot better
and another dramatic goal is always the best way to end a game:D

well, I watched the game today when it had it's premiere:rolleyes:

Okay first half although they need to take advantage of that opportunity they get once in awhile and after not doing it, Leverkusen with those quick strike abilities.

The 2nd half was played much better and Schalke sure don't get nervous leaving it till the end..

I guess they want to make sure that no one leaves the stadium early.:p

Whereas you could pretty much ALWAYS leave the Arena early and beat the crowd to the 302 Strassenbahn before Magath got to town!

Got to feel pretty good taking a point away after going down 0-2 at home AGAIN. I just don't understand where the offensive menace was for the first 75 minutes.

This shows Leverkusen should be going after some older players, another defender like Hyppia for next season and an older striker as depth and midfield.

yeah i dont mind rafinha that much but Rakitic and Kuranyi are big hits to the club
especially since i have a kuranyi 22 jersey:(( i got it for cheap though)
the financial troubles are true however i doubt that many are going to leave
heck we might as well pull out of the bundesliga if we are going to miss that many players(thats y i doubt it)
if its true then that would sux since this year we have depth and options in our team

Why is that? The only ones that would hurt losing are Kuranyi and Rafinha. Everybody else is just deadweight.

I still hope that Rakitic will show to be a player of international caliber, so far he has trouble to even make the team. Kenia, Moritz and Schmitz all overtook him in the last couple of months. Doesn't need to stay this way, but I (and pretty much all Schalke Fans) have never seen anything from Ivan which would explain/warrant a move to Juve etc.

Kuranyis contract expires next summer. I doubt Schalke will get much money if they sell him at the winter break, so I guess he will finish the season here. He did mention that he could sign a lesser contract with Schalke but that obviously doesn't mean anything at this point. Eventhough a lot of supporters are often angry with him (and he does have some obvious limitations as a player) he is still one of the most reliable forwards int he Bundesliga. I'm sure Magath would like to keep him.

Rafinha is trying to leave the club for some time now. Most fans have come to terms with him leaving someday. The only real question is the amount of compensation that Schalke will get. I think the money earned by selling Rafinha together with the fresh money from the GEW deal has a lot of influence whether Kuranyi and Rakitic are staying.

i think the debt muz be so big tt selling rafinha alone wun be enough. kuranyi will be sold if a bid of 6-8 million comes. while not a fantastic striker, he is still a good bundesliga striker that is worth 15-20 goals a season. and i dun believe he is easy to replace if he goes. while the loss will not caused relegation, but the loss of ur offence (kuranyi n rafinha in this case) may result in losing a europe spot
