Okay, couldn't find a thread for this so here it is.

The final game of the WCQ is this Wednesday and despite everlasting pessimists like Sayf who prolly thinks Bhutan deserve to go the the WC more than us, we have a good chance to clinch the second qaulification berth.

With the Otaif brothers out I think we should use this formation:

    GK:Waleed Abdullah
    DL:Al Zouri
    DC:O.Hawsawi
    DC:Majed Al Mershedi
    DR:Shuhail
    DM:Abdul Ghani
    DM:Khalid Aziz
    AML:A.Al-Qahtani
    AMR:????
    ST:Yasser Al Qahtani
    ST:Naif Hazazi

I can't for the life of me pick a right winger. Noor doesn't play their regularly (does he?) and Ahmed Al Mousa is out of the squad so....:(

hassan muaz will work ..i dont know about noor but he can also do it...the problem with is he goes too much for one man show ..
i think we should use 3 strikers instead of taking one more midfielder

I agree, but no one does that any more

    The formation should be

    GK:Waleed Abdullah
    DL:Abdul ghany
    DC:O.Hawsawi
    DC:Majed Al Mershedi
    DR:hassan muath
    DM:Khalid Aziz
DM:Taiseer aljasem (will cover for noor incase he's not doing well)
    AML:A.Al-Qahtani
    AMR:Noor
    ST:Yasser Al Qahtani
    ST:Naif Hazazi

PS sayf is disappointings cause he got no nationalism =P

IT should be the same as what you have above, with Mohammad Noor. He can drift inside and let Shuhail overlap with him, with Aziz providing cover. There's also no reason to take out Al-Ghadhi at this point to be honest.

So: Walid, Shuhail, Osama, Al-Ghadi, Zori, Aziz, Abdelghani, Noor, A.R. Al-Qahtani, Hazzazi, Yasser.

Do you guys realize this is the first time the NT plays without Ahmad Otaif in almost 2 years?? I guess if the NK's decide to sit back and defend it won't make that much difference.

ksa11, I've always liked that Saudi fans tend not to mix "nationalism" as you call it with sports like some others do.

Like you said, I only put Mershedi for "tfahum" because Hawsawi and Ghadi don't have that yet even though I rate Ghadi higher than "that puyol lookalike" :D (though he cut his hair :( )

The Puyol look-alike actually played very well in Pyongyang, but he's just too inconsistent. Can't really rely on him.

I hope Saudi beats North Korea at least 1-0 to qualify to WC2010.

If Iran wins against South Korea then the only team that will be in immense pressure will be KSA ....

What if Iran draws and KSA loses against North Korea @ Riyadh, then who will be 3rd ?? Iran or KSA ??

we cant expect a 1-0 victory for saudi..but we can expect 1-0 loss..
i can smell a big score like 3-0 or 3-1 for saudi..

Other way around. Shuhail is the one who can play left-back.

(by the way, I don't vouch for the above tashkeela's accuracy, but I posted it because it was given by one of the better sources out there)
