Im excited. I know a few of them from their past work and theyre absolutely hilarious. Im also excited to see Cecily Strong man the desk with Seth for Weekend Update.
It felt like the first time I can remember where they introduced the new cast members and then attempted to highlight them instead of just throwing them into random skits. Overall, the entire show felt like it was trying to get hipsters to watch "ironically."
Anyone else think Arcade Fire were unbelievably awful? Coming from someone who has thoroughly enjoyed their music in the past.
SNL has, for a LOOONG time, been far too enamoured with itself. But that episode was 'meta' to an absurd degree. However, I'll continue watching as long as Cecily Strong gets air time. #sigh
I wouldn't go so far to say they deserve to die in an arcade fire. But i was never a big fan either. Now get off my lawn, indie kids.
The next new episode's host on October 26th will be Edward Norton with musical guest Janelle Monáe. -G
As human beings, yes. As SNL hosts, not so much - i thought the Cyrus episode was pretty solid all around, i was pleasantly surprised.
So far this season has been pretty disappointing. I REALLY don't like Cecily Strong as co-anchor of weekend update. I know they're grooming her to take over once Seth Meyers leaves later this season, but ugh.
I thought Willis fit into skits better. Much of it is unfunny and a majority is simply silly. She has some timing, but she doesn't know how to pick when to speak up and be heard over reactions.
