Did anyone else have a couple of awkward moments during that first Frank Ocean song where they went "too bad he's gay" and then another when trying to figure out what that meant as a heterosexual male watching his performance?

Who does the better Obama? Armisen or Pharoah?

Armisen's was somewhat stale. I tend to think he had the voice better, but it's much easier with the content he was doing versus Pharoah. For various reasons, I would say the appearance is a toss up. I wouldn't be surprised if more effort was put into getting the look for Armisen. Pharoah scrunching his face at the beginning of the skit was as memorable as anything he said.

Somehow he really sold me on being Dominican and had me second guessing if that was 757 from VA Jay Pharoah.

A couple funny moments, but I was a little disappointed with Louis C.K.

I guess I shouldn't have expected more, with him being a comedian I actually find pretty funny, but I did.

Haven't there only been a few episodes (maybe 6-7) since Rihanna was last on? She wasn't even good the last time. Why the hell is she on again so soon?

His open was a bit strange. There was no introduction or segue into him doing six minutes of stand-up. I had no problem with it, but the transition from three seconds of talking to suddenly having a mic in his hand was absent.
Her people really push her. She's not talented. When she first made it she was a look and a somewhat unique voice that might be decent for some hooks and background. Now she has to use her look as much as she can. She won't be around in 15 years unless she's married to someone worth remembering. Even with her sales, her 15 minutes are nearly up. It's disappointing that SNL continues to make this mistake though. SNL needs Justin Timberlake to come out with another movie or album and be a regular cast member. Has it been six years? Maybe they'll have him on simply because he's married. The best thing to happen to SNL would probably be for Lorne to step aside.

I don't think I'm especially prudish -- but last time she was on, her whole stage routine was based around her patting her vagina. Seriously - that seemed to be the basis of the lyric and the choreography: "Check out my naughty lady parts."

And I get just as irritated when male singers constantly grab their junk. But this seemed so deliberate, like "Look how shocking I am." Ugggh -- so boringly awful.

By the way, Fun. was quite good live last weekend. Surprisingly so. I like them and was actually a big fan of that guy's former band The Format, but I did not think their songs would translate that well live. But they pulled them off exceptionally well -- and even got away with not singing their ubiquitous hit. I'm surprised Lorne Michaels allows that kind of thing (but I'm glad he did).

This is why Rihanna barely singing and grabbing herself in between physical abuse skits bothers me.

Sometimes hosts come off a bit differently on SNL compared to on their own shows because different writers are used between the two.

What the hell was up with Rihanna's first song? The background was way too triply. Have they ever done something like that before?

I concluded it was done to distract us from the lip syncing.

This guy Taran Killam is really growing on me.

This silent take during the pretty forgettable McDonald's sketch freaking killed me.
And he literally just stood there, not moving a muscle, making this face.

    Killed the audience, too.
    That's impressive.
