Arouca can play as a 1st DM, but I still believe he is more effective as a 2nd DM -- and he should be called up and used there for the NT.

I agree with Bakaman. It'll probably be Henrique, Arouca, Ibson/Elano, Ganso. Muricy can tinker with that lineup based on certain situations and teams.

I agree that Elano will probably be the one who get's benched. He hasn't played well in a long time. It's a pity that Adriano will most likely be dropped. He has been one of our best players in my opinion.

Yesterday we debutted on this year's edition of Copa BH (U20), against Fluminense. We had a very bad start, conceding 2 goals in 6 minutes, but managed to get a hold of the game somehow. In the second half we scored, and we were close to equalising, when our defender Wallace got sent off... That disrupted our momentum, and FLuminense killed the game: 3-1.

It wasn't a good start for us, I reckon that our team lacks organization in attack, too many players trying to solve everything by themselves... We must improve our teamplay.

Our highlights so far goes to Gustavo (very tall and strong CB), Alison ( skilled CMF) and Geuvânio ( very skillfull wide forward/midfielder, free kick specialist).

is Anderson too green to get some playing time each game? I have noticed he sporadically gets time here and there.

You mean Anderson Carvalho? If that's so, yeah I believe he deserves more play time, in one of the few opportunities he had he played out of position, in the left.... I'd rather see him playing than the likes of Possebon and (the now gone) Charles... Elivelton was also a very good DMF in our youth teams.

Anyway, our U19s will play against Coritiba today, the game starts in one hour. Anyone wanting to watch, try this link:

Ahh Felipe Anderson... Yeah he is too green. He has potential, but his decision making is still very poor... It will be hard for him to get a spot in a midfield of Henrique/Arouca/Ibson/Ganso/Elano .

2-1 HT, AGAIN we conceded two goals in 10 minutes of play, our defensive system is really letting us down with those slow starts... Sort it out already damnit.

Offensively, we still depend too much on individual talent. We need more team work!

Highlight so far is Pedro Castro. Some good passes, and a goal.

EDIT: 3-1 FT, we lost again... This team is not giving me much hope....:(

So it seems like Muricy is trying a Arouca/Ibson/Elano/Ganso midfield... That's one VERY offensive formation >_>

I wonder if Arouca won't be overloaded with the defensive duty of the midfield, even more because our sidebacks love to go foward. It surprised me, Muricy likes to prioritize defense, yet I reckon that this formation leaves our defense VERY exposed... Let's see how it works, we know that we can't expect much defensive work from Elano since he is out of form, and I dunno how Ibson is gonna play.

Anyway, this is the formation we will most likely see, keep in mind that Danilo is with the Brazilian U20 NT.

    -----------------------Rafael-----------------------
    ----Pará-------Dracena------Durval----------Léo----
    ----------------------Arouca-----------------------
    -------------Elano---------------Ibson-------------
    -----------------------Ganso----------------------
    ---------------------------------Neymar-----------
    ------------------Borges---------------------------

Is this what you will be fielding vs us on Wednesday? Yikes, Luxa needs to start Alex Silva ASAP. Welinton is going to end up gifting 2-3 goals at least.

We need 3 points badly after tying Ceara, unfortunately, we've only won ONCE in Vila...

I'm expecting a great game... I already miss watching my team play, with all those match rescheduling ( lol is that even a word?) and stuff!

I hope you don't attack our right side too much, Pará is "the map of the mine!". That plus Elano's fatigue will create a true avenida!

Brasileirão is pretty much all or nothing for us, since we are already qualified for Libertadores... Our only objective in the tourney is to win it all, so we must claim all the points we can! :D

Good luck Mengão, I hope we get to watch a memorable game!

Well, that may be a small piece of good news for Ronaldinho, who plays on the left. Thiago Neves has been mediocre the last few games, so who knows which Thiago Neves will show up.

Good luck. At the very least, I hope to see a good game with minimal errors.

This is gonna be such a great game.. I can't wait. GL Mengão m8.

If this is our lineup Muricy did cave in to Elano's reputation cause Adriano would be a better choise tbh giving Elano some rest..can't wait to see in what shape Ibson is coming in.

I doubt Arouca has it in him to be a 1st volante in such a lineup cause he doesn't have that type of defensive presence in him. he'll need alot of help and sadly bar Ibson I can't see anyone giving it to him, unless Neymar and Ganso came back from Argentina understanding tracking back and working to the team on defence is an obligation - which I doubt :D

Is Airton gonna play for you guys?

I don't think he will play. I haven't heard anything about him fighting his suspension sentence. It's shame, because since he has returned, we hadn't been scored on.

Luiz Antonio, who replaced him in the lineup on Sat vs Ceara, had a good game, but is a different type of player. He doesn't have the marking and ball winning skills that Airton possess.

    I'd expect:
Felipe; Leo Moura, Welinton, Angelim, J César; Willians, Luiz Antônio, Renato (a cancer...wish we had Ibson here :(); R10, Thiago Neves, Deivid.

And now Renato will score off a free kick just cause you called him that:p

Really great to hear Airton won't play tbh, with our midfield we'll be playing alot of the ball and a guy like him could be a real problem.

I have a bad feeling about Renato as well...

In other news, I totally missed our last game in the Taça BH U19... We couldn't score against Bahia and the game ended 0-0, it seems. Sorry for not warning you guys about the game, I totally forgot!

1 point in 9.... Damn this is horrible. Not a good crop, I guess.

    3-2 ffs.

Are we back with Dorival Júnior or is Muricy still our coach?:D what a crazy game lol, looks like us from 1-2 years ago, not the Santos of Muricy.

This game is worth all the expectation.. amazing so far.

WTH did they do to Elano's PK shooting ability over there in Argentina? these 45 minutes had enough events for 3 games.

What a game.. was worth staying awake.

    We're playing with fire here.

Get Elano out and bring Adriano in.. our midfield is too exposed and Arouca can't do it alone, he doesn't have that presence.
