He had some chances in the second half and not convincing. I do not know how much I can credit the adaptation and the Vasco's situation in the table (18º, fighting to avoid relegation).

Earns the first penalty and scores the first goal in that match. Love that dribble and shot at 5:35.

I think he was subbed out early on in Wednesday's match. Might have gotten injured.

gol from Arias. He received a pass out wide, cut in to middle then hit a slow shot to the near post. The game is 1-0 early. Its on GolTV.

All I could think was, we need that on the National team, lol.

    http://www.antena2.com.co/noticias/el-colombiano-montoya-espera-salir-de-altibaj-77605

Are you kidding me? Czd is so right in this one. One youtube highlight reel does not make a player. James was the youngest Colombian (maybe even overall youngest intl) to have ever won an a title in Argentina. He was already a stud in his youth in Colombia. He was SCOUTED at 13. At 23, he's starting at Real Madrid.

Montoya didn't even come up in any of the U17/U20s that I can remember so I'm not sure how you can reach that conclusion.

And this was way before when the kid was also 21 playing quiet well when I though he might reach a level like James in the sense of beING a good playmaker for the national team ...when James was at porto. This is something i thought about montoya before ( 2 seasons ago) not something I will think of him now.

Jay, I can understand if you were comparing (even 2 seasons ago) ...BUT James? Quintero is about as close as we have had for a while to James because we see his potential, a true playmaker. James is by FAR the MOST complete #10 we have ever had and he's only 23!

Your right..this comparison was from a while back , but since he got lost in the sauce somewhere In brazil that comparison no longer exists. James surpasses him by a long shot , and Quintero is still in the works. It's a shame montoya fell off the grid , if he kept that momentUm he had in Argentina till now. We would have been talking about calling this guy up , but in reality we are just asking " whatever happened to this guy? He looked like a up and coming talent from colombia a few years ago."

I made that and a couple other highlight videos for Montoya a while back. I'll tell you that kid was promising. VERY.

The James comparisons were logical. Hell, inevitable. A left footed Colombian who was equally comfortable on the left wing and behind the strikers. Decent cross, a stellar shot from distance, pase gol. Making a name for himself with a smallish club in Argentina. Hard to deny some of those similarities.

Now, was he James good? No. Of course not. He and James are the same age for crying our loud. But he was good. Damn good. At the time James was still at Porto and was primarily used as an LM for the NT since Macnelly was still around. The comparisons made a whole lot more sense then.

I hope he does turn it around in Brazil.

Well then he goes to the list of players that 'could've been'....too many to count for Colombia.

I'd love to see him develop. We have a lot of attacking players, but not many complete AMs. Quintero is up and down and Cuadrado works best as a winger. A guy that can partner with James ala Isco would be superb

This guys actually reminds me of Isco in terms of playing style and delivery. Not too much like James. He looked decent when I first saw him, hopefully he can get back on his feet.
