Who's in with me? The dude plays a level above! I'm very happy watching him scrap out there.
I'm all in in this. I've loved what he's brought to the team since he first stepped on the pitch for the Rapids. He is crafty, driven and unpredictable for opponents. At this point he deserves DP money .
Not sure he can always go the full 90 with the way he moves around the pitch but that's okay 'cause he could be in for 20 minutes with devastatingly good impact for the Rapids.
He has veteran savvy combined with the desire of a youngster.
Interesting how he seemed to be an afterthought in many of our minds when he was first signed. Some even dissed him prior to his first minute on the pitch (Edu 2.0), etc.
Very good, we need some pics from his glory days with Toluca in this thread. I'd do it but I'm on my phone.
For sure, count me it. He was a beast tonight. Who exactly is responsible for finding him?
From the very first time Vicente Sanchez stepped on the pitch his skills put him decidedly above nearly all those who were marking them. He is unselfish and a real team player. Did you notice him run over to the bench guys, huddle with them, and celebrate together after his goal. VERY CLASSY (-B
Agree with all Sanchez was a steal! Amazing technical skills, poise, presence and professionalism ... I loved the juke he played on George John last night. Like Joe said as well, he seems to be incredibly unselfish. I'm a fan.
Let's sign him up-- when he was on MLS Tiro Libre podcast, he said his contract is only through December.
I am a fan. Hoping he has several more good years with the Rapids AND can provide some guidance to the younger crew (like Rivero).
The thing that blows me away is his speed and work rate. I just don't think it is often that you see someone at his age burning by people and hustling all over the pitch for 90 mins. The times I have see him subbed off he actually looks like he has nothing left in the tank. Good man and previously mentioned All Class!
Yeah, he is a must sign even at his age, just pure class with the ball. We finally got it right with an older player.
Sign for at least another year NOW! I thought the deal was through next season.
Maybe he has a club or mutual option.
Maybe we should make him feel like he'd be crazy to be anywhere else!
Seems to be great on and off the field. Here's a quote from his interview after yesterday's game:
“We had a difficult week here in Colorado," Sanchez said. "So we're hoping that this win can give a little bit of joy to the people and perhaps distance them a little from the suffering that the rain is causing.”
I wonder what his story has been in recent years...why did he leave the Mexican league, why did he go back to Uruguay, then how'd he end up deciding to come to MLS in preference to other options.
Sanchez comes to play. He plays in such a way that you can't forget that he's there. It's entertaining and great for the team.
I've been in.
If you understand Spanish, you can go back and listen to the MLS Tiro Libre Podcast from a couple weeks ago on which he was a guest.
I've forgotten all of what he said, but I do remember for sure he said that his contract was through December. I also remember that he cited Oscar Pareja as the main reason he decided to come to Colorado.
Separate names with a comma.
