As well as the Scoreboard Bar's bartender: GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G P.S. = The young folk here likely have absolutely no idea who those guys are (I'm old ).
Nice shirt, good job, the only thing i would sy from my personal opinion is i hate colars! And would prefer the black to be white, so they look more like the 2000/01 shirts, my favs. Good job though.
Is the parking/patio roof behind the sign on Coleman coming down or is that thing staying up for a reason? Just curious because I drove past there again yesterday.
Are you talking about the roof that is over the groundwater remediation site? I believe that facility will remain there.
Yeah I think that's the one right behind the sign that says Future Quakes home on Coleman. Also , further down towards downtown, I wonder if the soccer fields promised to the city would be placed under the flight path with all those orchards and trees?
I heard they are going to paint it to look like the stadium, like they did around the city on those traffic light control boxes that are painted to look like he buildings nearby.
No the fields are going to be behind the stadium (as viewed from Coleman) was my understanding. Between the stadium and the railroad tracks.
At least it will look nice and Nancy's kids can play there and the other guys kids can stop whinning during the day!
Actually, they will be on the north side of the Quakes practice facility, in a line, heading toward BAE.
Improved your post... (I'm implying they will be as far west on the property as posstible, away from Coleman, to the east of the property)
Come on, you could have added that they would be between the tracks and the office, R&D, and retail that Wolff and his buddies are going to be building.
"Dave Kaval New Stadium Q&A - Part 2" (SJEarthquakes.com - Thursday, 12/13/12) Photo: Surveyors were on site Monday, another step as the club prepares to begin construction after the New Year. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
-I keep looking at the pictures of the lux seats down low and general seating up higher. If the angle of the upper seats are as good as Dave's earlier post, they would seem much better than the lux boxes. Seems odd to put the lux boxes so low to the ground, unless those people are simply paying to be close to the players. I like sitting up higher and watch the plays form and ball move around the field. If nothing else, at least its different than any other set up in the league. -Next question, is it going to be possible to walk to the Santa Clara Caltrain Station? -HDC was also going to be a horse shoe , they only added seats (and then only the lower half) of the grass berm. We still sell the upper half as overflow. If your party area , plaza is done right, is there still going to be a berm, or will you be able to see into the stadium under current plans? -Would also assume or hope, plans for the open end would allow for temp seating to be put in for really big events. With our hillside , its hard to, if you keep you berm smaller/flatter, hopefully more temp seating would fit easier. -Do you think they really would have used Spartan for the final ? -Oakland would have been in football set up rather than baseball- would that have worked better ? -Or back at the Giants or 49ers place- you have played games at all these places over the last couple years...
I predict that before the second season in the new stadium has run out, some numbskull will be suing the team and the league for injury because they were chatting up some business deal, not paying attention to the game, and will take a clearance ball to the side of the head, maybe even getting facial lacerations from the shattered glass of Chardonnay they were sipping moments before impact. (worse case, they also choke on the extra large prawn just inserted prior to taking the sip of wine)
Interesting. Once all is said and done, the trip from Santa Clara into that whole area and then into downtown San José, as well as the return trip, will be pretty cool. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
We probably won't be alive to see it, but the master plan extends Guadalupe River Park from downtown San Jose all the way to Hedding Street by the airport. Additionally, if the unnecessary Market/Coleman overpass near Julian St. were removed, there could be a "grand parkway" leading from downtown virtually to the soccer stadium.
I'd be interested in seeing the alternative to that overpass. Seems like the railroad would have to go and that apartment complex would lose it's parking lot to the east side, and the Vendome Neighborhood would have more to complain about....
can someone map the location of the stadium in relation to the Guadalupe project? Looked at a general map and not sure if I am looking the correct side of the river. Is the stadium on the west side of the river and the airport on the east? And then is the stadium between the river and the Caltrain tracks to the west ?
