From today's (Monday, 4/14/14) David Kaval Rumblings Tumblr page (Part 2 of 2): GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
Are the Quakes getting the same kind of turf the Niners are gettng? http://www.mercurynews.com/southbay...ew-49ers-levis-stadium-gets-its-field-opening I know Kaval tweeted a picture of the Quakes turf, but I was curious if we are getting our turf from the same place.
Not sure if its the same exact turf or not but here are their supplier.... Sierra Pacific Turf Services http://www.sierrapacificturf.com/
Im pretty sure its the same. Kaval tweeted a picture and Niners was on one side and Quakes on the other.
Got a friend at Devcon Turner who says not just same turf, but an exact copy of the pitch. Sounds like we dumped the company that we used to build and take care of Buck Shaw and hired the Niner's guys. I hope that they can do as well as our old groundsmen. I always had a twinge of pride for the Buck Shaw pitch. Sorry to see them go.
An update to this earlier post after today's announcement: ________________________ With The Epicenter scheduled to host games starting next year, the San Jose Earthquakes will rejoin the group of MLS teams that play in home stadiums located in their namesake city (or state for the Colorado Rapids and region for the New England Revolution). Los Angeles FC/SC? You do realize neither of those names can be used. Vergera still owns the rights to those. Also I don't consider NYCFC's news to be good news. This means 2-3 years or more playing in a poorly adapted to soccer baseball park with as yet no specified end date established for that team's stay in a less than ideal location.
We need an interim name now that we know the goats are headed for the slaughter. (Good riddance to the Liga MX club name in MLS.) Shall we use LA Aztecs instead? Any of them are possible, depending on what the future owners want to buy.
Hah, see what I mean. Kaval's Kickoff tends to only appear after good results :--). After lousy results he is not in much mood to write them (and frankly a lot of Quakes fans may not be in a mood to read them).

I'm guessing that was potentially offensive. Please know I only meant to offend the Galaxy and their supporters.
Anyone have pics of the team building? Kaval mentioned that they are doing stone work or something. It's hard to see progress now that the webcam is mainly blocked, however I'm sure work is being done if they hope to finish in the next couple months.
