Because there are lots of things that people are serious about which have the capacity to make Goodsports head explode.;)

You've misinterpreted the point in what I'm saying.

I'm not saying that the field in the rendering is marked small (it is though).

I'm saying that the stadium is too small to accommodate a field larger that 73 yards and still provide the 13'7" front row to touchline distances. And all the renderings to date have been consistent.

    A 75 yard wide field doesn't fit! :)

A quick observation about Kaval. I love guy but ....

If you using inches in talking about distances to touchlines, the correct response to how large a field can the stadium hold should have been 74.3 yards which is FIFA's ideal field with of 68 meters. It hasn't been 75 yards for quite a while and if your talking about 13'7" those last two feed matter.

BTW I love this. The month construction starts we're trying to figure out if a "full sized" field will even fit. What a great problem to have!

Maybe we should revisit the old idea of double decker shuttle buses from downtown to the Epicenter?

I know, but, I was just going by what Kaval said. Something has to give then. Either Kaval was wrong about the 75 yards, or the renderings are just that, renderings, and are not giving us the correct dimensions.

I think that was pretty much a given. The Niners have always maintained they'd want to host soccer events there, and we need a better stadium than the Coliseum and Candlestick to host large events at that has better access and proximity to SJ. It's a perfect fit for big games.

Somehow I've never thought of this area as "the northwest."

Considering that L.A. is east of Tahoe, we in the Bay Area are, from a certain overly-populated and under-watered perspective, not merely north but west. :)

The 49ers stadium isn't important in the real calculus of soccer in the Bay Area because until we can clean up the rat's nest that is USSF and banish Sunil Gulati (who seems to have some manic hatred of the Bay Area) we shan't be hosting any US Nat games... :(

The CalTrain station platform at Santa Clara was remodeled a year or so ago. Included was an entrance to a yet to be constructed tunnel under the tracks. Next to the new passenger loading platform are stairs to a lower level. At the lower level is the tunnel entrance, with a closed overhead door. I do not know how far the tunnel has been constructed, but I think not very far. I believe all that exists right now is the entrance. However, the fact that the entrance is there is a reasonably good indication that plans exist for access at some time in the future.

If it's BART they're waiting for, I can only hope my future Social Security payments haven't yet dried up, as I patiently rock back and forth on my porch waiting for another decade or so for such a thing to happen.
OTOH, the area on Berryessa next to the Flea Market is actually taking shape as the next BART destination.

Roll the door up and you'll see a poorly constructed brick wall, behind which will be a skeleton of a man next to an empty cask of Amontillado...

    Ha! I Googled "Red Meat"

I noticed I have an old Red Meat comic in my office a friend sent me 10 or so years ago. It has Ted Johnson and his wife in it. (Edit: Found a link to the exact comic: http://www.redmeat.com/redmeat/1999-06-07/index.html :) )

My education continues... (Last year TyffaneeSue helped me learn about Stoner Stanley, when I commented that alexiskool1991 should consider removing his self portrait from his avatar) :-0

Are the sleeves connected to the tops? o_O

At least they are wearing more blue then black. :)

The one with the red hair streak needs to be offered a bonus to change it to blue.
