Your thread title sucks. I'd rather win the 2012 MLS cup with the best team in the MLS.
    2014 can wait.

I am going to enjoy every remaining second of the 2012 season!! This has been a killer good year, when I expected us to suck like a Dyson. I was thinking (and hoping) that Yallop would be sacked after the first eight to ten matches of 2012. Instead, we went 6-1-1 in March and April, and there was much rejoicing.

Yeah, I'm totally pumped for the new stadium. I'll watch on line, and go look if I can get down to San José. But right this minute? I am MUCH more excited about winning MLS Cup!!! Let's go Earthquakes!!

    Who's not jumpin?
    He's a loser!
    Hey! Hey!

    GO QUAKES!! :D

Frankly, it's going to be anti-climatic for me. Don't get me wrong. I will enjoy the new stadium and having our "own" stadium, but after having a professional soccer league folder and team move leaves a lot of wounds which aren't going to be healed...

Still, I'm very happy with progress of soccer in the US.

I was hoping we'd keep that thread going until the stadium opened, or it hit 10000 posts, whichever came first...

I missunderstood you then. I thought you wanted a virtual viewer when there was not a defined seating area. It would suck big time if this FO had a defined seating area and could still not produce a virtual seating viewer.

IMO the seating areas are defined enough to do the virtual viewer. There may be a few spots in the stadium where they are unsure about exactly how many seats will be there, but, they pretty much know the elevations and distances of the seating areas to give you an idea what the view would be like.

Nice, a bit too much black for my taste, but better than all black.

They pound pyles into the ground, beams are horizontal things. ;)

Crap... I spelled Pile wrong.. No pun intended

Right. The Galacterrhoids must get their piles pounded into the ground.

Now that the euphoria of the groundbreaking has subsided, I'm back in my "wait and see" mode. I drove past the site on Saturday, and noted absolutely no equipment on the site and no progress beyond removing the stage, etc. Until the ACTUAL groundbreaking occurs, I'll still have this nagging doubt in my heart...

Like I said last week after I visited the FO, my ticket rep sounded pretty optimistic that construction would begin before the end of the year.

Probably goes with the territory, and a new stadium will make their job a lot more rewarding. However, to meet the spring 2014 deadline, they can't wait too long to get going.

What did you expect on a three day weekend? But thanks for checking. I do every time I go by there, but I figure I'll report when the status changes rather then when there is no change.
