Because we waited to long already ! if it was up to many of the loyal fans out here, I'm sure Wee Man will be our first choice to be the FIRST member of the Quakes Hall of Fame. I, for one, am very happy for this news ! I cannot wait for his speech ..... ....next step....Quakes GM !

One of the qualifications for election to the SJEQ Hall of Fame: "Players inducted must also be people of the highest moral integrity." There isn't a more deserving person for this award. It was the right thing to do. How many of you attended the SSVCF Dinner at the History Museum Park several years back when Johnny was our Keynote Speaker? How times have changed...
Watching the highlights - wow, he really was the Wee Man! Looks like he's got some goonie in him too with that dribble through 3 guys after hitting the ground. He is highly deserving - the face of the franchise's legacy, the main bridge between the NASL and MLS Quakes, etc. Kind of surprised it took this long...
i think there is reason to believe the minds that chose to make the Quakes black, also chose to ignore the WeeMan....
I'm pleasantly shocked to see the FO take this step after Johny's excellent but highly critical speech. Perhaps after completing the steal on the stadium they feel they have now demonstrated that they properly support the fan and club. Burying the hatchet would be good for everyone involved. This is a great move following a relaunch claiming heritage. No single individual says Earthquake's heritage more than Johny Moore!
This is the way to go, picking the Wee Man for Hall of fame is the best the FO has done for this year.
i think the hatchet was buried a while ago. Johnny knows people over at Moffett Field and arranged to have materials from Hanger 1 obtained, to be used in the new stadium. It been 25-30 years since I've been in that hanger at an air show so I don't remember what was in there that was so special, but I've heard there is wood that will be used.
Laurie Calloway definitely should be one of the next inductees into the Players Wing of the San Jose Earthquakes Hall of Fame, while Dan Van Voorhis should be the next inductee to join Milan Mandaric and Peter Bridgwater (and Johnny Moore?) in the Builders Wing of the SJEHoF. Speaking of which, will Johnny be inducted into the Players Wing, the Builders Wing or both? GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
I am so glad to see Johnny Moore get this honor. Over the years, for my money, he is among but a select handful who really represent the true definition of "San Jose Earthquakes". He and I have never been close personal friends, but every time I have had the opportunity to talk or spend time with him, he has always been gracious and outgoing, taking time to engage with me like an old friend. That has been the case not only in his capacity as a player, but also as a club executive, or as player in Sunday league games, and at social events. It should have happened sooner.

Miscellaneous dislikes: phonies, loudmouths, or lazy people Amazing, the Wee Man had foreshadowed AEG about 25 years in advance!
And on top of that, the younger version of JM looks a lot (not exactly, but close - even moreso in the JM/Pelé photo a few posts above) like the younger version of one of my uncles, the one that regularly attended NASL San Jose Earthquakes games with my dad and I (I'm old ).
