Kickoff is at 12 noon, show up early and get a sneak preview of the new team headed up by new Head Coach Jerome Watson and anchored by hometown boy Nick Harpel. The game promises to be another exciting day of pro soccer in San Diego brought to you by the number one pro soccer team in San Diego, the San Diego Flash! SoccerNation reported that Skwara stepped down... not surprising, anybody hear anything more about it?
http://www.soccernation.com/oc-pateadores-beat-sd-boca-fc-8-0-in-npsl-match-cms-4244 just a blurb a couple paragraph's down
I read it as he stepped aside as president but he's still owner. Hopefully he'll be selling them soon too though (or they just fold so Flash can move back exile north of 56 back to downtown).
Did Boca move permanently to James Madison? I know the next match is there. Last year, I noticed huge problems with the goals (bent very badly).
Looks like. They list it as their home stadium on their schedule this year. Which seems odd. Why abandon downtown and move closer to your primary opponent?
I've never been to JM, but I never liked SDHS stadium. Very hilly, rather drab, and like i said, the goals were badly bent (not sure how the surface was).

What should Boca do for the new season? Can San Diego handle losing an NPSL team? I would miss the rivalry!
It would be a shame. Both team (Boca and Flash) are "pro" wanna bees... Managed by two very questionable characters. Let's see who uses their investors money for personal use faster and go out of business first... Such a shame that in a city like ours, where soccer is huge and there are such great players in both the Flash and Boca, their owners are just money driven and care about their own pocket first. Maybe if they'd drop their egos, fans can help them bring this city to be where it needs to be as far as soccer!
And the Boca soccer website is gone. I hear a lot about tons of expansion next year. Will SD have an NPSL presence?
Yeah, Clent posts all the time on social media about selling off Flash ownership pieces in the team so they're definitely still around. Seems he's still working toward being more than just an NPSL team.
Yeah looks like the team got a new name, San Diego iCon Football Club (San Diego iCon FC for short). Looks like they're returning to Balboa Stadium for the 2014 season too. Sounds like Yan is out of the picture completely too. Credit to Kenn for finding that info.
