With the success of the San Antonio Scorpions and their commitment to build an 18,000 seat stadium I am requesting a San Antonio forum under MLS Expansion candidate cities. Post your support!
Heck yeah. I want an MLS team, A Mex. Primera Team AND a BPL team here. They just re-invented a super-sonic passenger jet right?
Agreed. Stadium plans, great owner, large fan base, at least dead even with Orlando. Not to mention Houston and Dallas rivals.
Let us in...Let us in....Let us in... We all know Garber will do it eventually. Come on Big soccer beat him to it!
I am not in charge of the MLS Expansion forums (per say). My guess it might have to do with the lack of posts in the existing NASL subforum. But I will see what I can do.
To be fair our NASL forum has only been around for 1.5 years where as forms like the railhawks, strikers and rowdies have been around since 2006 so on average we are doing as well if not better. We could post more and I will do more of that this year.
We should be getting a forum folder... 1. The city has to be mentioned by MLS as one of the potential sites for expansion. 2. There must be at least 10 regular posters to post in a thread requesting the forum on the Customer Service board 3. High traffic in the current thread(s) that are city specific in the MLS Expansion forum. 4. Once 1,2,3 are complete, contact me and I'll review. 5. If I think 1,2,3 are met, I'll notify the supermods 6. Is then up to their discretion. But in light of things like this, I'm not promising anything. http://www.bizjournals.com/sanantonio/blog/2013/08/mls-wont-say-if-san-antonio-is.html Sport Billy, Today at 8:19 AMReport
I disagree with this idea. We're talking about an existing team: the San Antonio Scorpions. Yes, they have MLS aspirations. But that's already normal discussion on the San Antonio Scorpions board. Why should there be another board for that? I have a big interest in the Sacramento MLS expansion talk. But that discussion belongs on the Sacramento Republic FC board. It's the same with San Antonio. It was silly to have the Orlando board under MLS Expansion. It got only 27 threads. Meanwhile, the Orlando City SC board has 216. The expansion talk would have been better placed on the team board. That's what I'd want for Sacramento discussion. That's what I think should hold true for every candidate city: if an existing team wants to join MLS, go to that team's board to discuss that topic. If a city (but not an existing team) want to join MLS, then maybe see about a board.
