As do I, but in the last 20 minutes of a match to sub Aimar. Carlos Martins has tremendous talent, but he is one of those players that either has an absolute fantastic match, or has a terrible one.

He played poorly until the last 5 minutes of the first half.

I wonder if Maxi and Martins took turns shaving each others head

Salvio and Gaitan are both playing. The only starter who isnt is Aimar. But he is available on the bench.

Benfica is wasting an opportunity here. PSG was there for the taking but nothing goes right for Benfica tonight.

WOW!!!! Uncalled penalty for Benfica! Makonda completely takes out Saviola in the box! No contact with the ball. WTF Ref, should be a penalty and yellow card.

Damn, penalty denied. This whole refereeing stuff is getting a little too annoying.

Not like Aimar did a lot for that. Credit to Jara.

Away goal is bad news. At least, the team is proving they can come back from a 1-0 deficit and win a game, but they look like crap. Salvio and Gaitan seem unfit and the whole team seems out of sync since that Maritimo game. I don't like our chances of progressing, but who knows...

Good win guys, expecting a repeat of the Stuttgart tie.

Porto-Benfica in the QF, SF or F would be mouth-watering!

Benfica has a tiny advantage goin back to Paris...looks like we might have to score there for us to progress..for me Maxi was MOTM...Gaitan looks hurt and the love hate relationship for one oscar cardozo continues for Benfica fans if i could i'd punch him in his fat head of his...to many waisted opportunties...guess have to take the good and the bad with him...still think we get through to the quarters

Benfica a team running out of gas.
Hopefully now JJ will rotate players more and give priority to UEFA.
Gaitan and Salvio way below their form due to muscular issues (whatever a mialgia is).
Sidney - we need to prioritize recruitment to find a better option. He is ok for a Benfica - Portimonense but Porto or Uefa please... This guys is too slow to play besides Luisao who is great but also slow. In the long run we also need someone to compete with Maxi. He has lost a step.

Besides Coentrao who will be leaving soon, Only Aimar showed top class. Only problem is he can't do it for 90 minutes. Yet, did a great job at holding the ball when it was needed, came back to help defend when Javi was already out of gas and no one organizes attack in the team like him.

A well rested team and good Portuguese showing in the stands in France may prove determinant in the 2nd leg.

    1) We need to see more of the new comer Fernandez.

    2) What the heck happened to Weldon? Hasnt played a single game this season and he was crucial is last season's championship. He is a great sub. Can he effective on the right flank with his speed and give Salvio a break.
