He can probably score 20 goals in Portugal.

Tottenham and Cardiff city interested in Nelson. What a shame. Would love to see him involved at Benfica. I read an article that JJ has a whole heck of a lot to do with our transfers and signings...more so than you would expect. He's essentially a coach/GM....makes me wonder what the hell rui costa does.

Well after the way last season ended yea I am a bit surprised because if we want to beat Porto in the regular season we need to start beating them in off-season.

As much as I want Nelson to be a part of this upcoming season, I'd rather see him loaned to Braga then go to where he'd play more and developer than be a sub in England.

If rosa has the right attitude this deal will push him to start. If not then you're likely correct.

JJ seems to have absolutely no interest in Rosa which is sad. Voted #1 player in the 2nd division and also the highest goalie scorer on Benfica B and he's a midfielder. Won numerous awards this past season and gets completely overlooked by JJ. What a shame.

JJ is the man. I can't wait for another great season. Like he said, he returned Benfica to the glory years of the 60s and 70s.

Pizzi to sign for Benfica until 2018. Hopefully he actually gets time and isn't another Portuguese player we dont use like Rosa and Viera.

I like Pizzi. Quality player. I just don't know what Benfica is doing signing so many players. Pizzi wants to speak with JJ before he signs with Benfica because he wants regular playing time throughout the season.

In all honesty, I don't see Pizzi playing much with Gaitan, Salvio, Sulejmani and Ola John on the team.

ManCity want Salvio and will include Javi Garcia loan in the deal.

I like Benfica's approach to signing a ton of guys that have potential. Competition breeds success and improvement. Let all those guys bust their ass in order gain space on the team, and those who make it out on top are that much better because of it.

    Hey idiot,

What part can't you tell or understand? JJ stated in a recent interview that he returned the team to the glory years of the 60's and 70's. Do you know how many domestic and european titles the club won then? Look it up. Benfica only won one liga and a few beer cups under JJ's tenure. Last season was a complete collapse. He's an idiot for even making such an egotistical comparison. Obviously, birds of a feather flock together.

Benfica's chance to put a hold on a Porto winning streak was last season, and they blew it

Porto will be faviourtes to win the league again and I expect them to, and beyond that another penta or even a hexa for them is possible...

only Sporting can stop Porto, and it will take time.

Tenha calma, Senhor. Why would you take offense? And why would I need to look up such basic information on the history of the club?

Anyway, saying Benfica is anywhere near the team they were in the 60's is, like you said, plain stupid.

Nelson Oliveira to be loaned to Stoke City?
