Sounding like Garay is already in Manchestor and a done deal. Lisandro Lopez has already arrived in Lisboa. Looking forward to seeing all these new faces in pre-season. Odds are half of them go to the B squad.

We also lost Nolito. But other than that, I can deal with only losing Aimar and most likely Garay. Let's hope we maintain Matic. That is one of the most important players to keep for at least another year.

We signed 2 CB's so hopefully at least 1 of them is good enough to replace Garay and finally signed a LB. Don't know much about Bruno Cortez, but if he's better than Melga, then Benfica should be all set.

With all the signings so far though, its hard to believe Benfica won't sell anybody. Carlos Martin is yet to be offloaded, and the Cardozo saga continues with him saying he wants to leave and Fenerbahce still interested, and now

If JJ has no plans to utilize Nelson O, than I would love to see him loaned to a Portuguese team instead of going abroad. I think Braga would be a perfect place for Nelson to develop as long as he gets a starting role.

 

Completely agree. Signing Hugo Almeida to replace Cardozo instead of developing Nelson is a huge mistake. Especially for the 7 million euros they're reporting

 

LB Bruno Cortez only on loan. Benfica do however have the option to buy at the end of the season. Cortez was voted best LB in the Brasileirão back in 2011. Lets see how he pans out in Europe. Good way to test player before dishing out the money.

Out of curiosity: Anyone see Silvio taking Maxi Pereira's starting RB role even though Silvio is only on loan with no buyout clause?

 

I'm sure JJ will at least test Silvio at LB in training and preseason games, but don't think Benfica would of signed LB Cortez if they planned on using Silvio at LB. we'll see in pre-season.
