Enzo Perez replacing Witsel in the midfield - After only 2 games there JJ already saying, "Witsel who???" http://www.record.xl.pt/Futebol/Nacional/1a_liga/Benfica/interior.aspx?content_id=780171
Hmmm, Perez hasn't been that good. I rather Martins in the role opposed to Perez. I actually think hes one of our worst players.
Is a revolution brewing to overthrow LFV? Booed and had to be escorted out of the Relatorio e Contas meeting yesterday...
Here's the article. "Fans ask for dismissal of LFV" http://www.record.xl.pt/Futebol/Nacional/1a_liga/Benfica/interior.aspx?content_id=780255
how is that even possible? Simple math will tell you he's pocketed hundreds of millions from the club... We play 30 home games a season and average 50, 000 spectators.. Being extremely conservative we sell each ticket on average 20 euros each (real average is more like upwards of 30-40 euro each) When you add that all up we bring in ONE MILLION euros PER GAME on ticket sales ALONE.. 30 x 1 = 30 Million euros on ticket sales from official Benfica matches each season.. Players on the squad are making on average under 1million euros per season.. So we are paying about 20 million euro per season on wages and 28-30 million on transfers. 30 + 20 = 50.. Math says we are covering transfers + wages on ticket sales alone.. Math also leads us to the conclusion that when you add up Ticket Sales + Merchandise + TV Contract + Benfica TV(700k+ subscribed internationally for no games lulz) + Competition earning (Champions league/EL + Domestic) + Out going transfers.. At the end of the day we are bringing in extremely conservatively WELL over 100+ million euro per season.. tbh I think it's closer to 200 million per season... Nuff' said LFV is a thief should have known from the beginning with the whole Estadio Da Luz II fiasco.. ffs these last few seasons we've brought in 200 million euros on outgoing transfers yet our debt went up 200 million euros hahaha what a joke!
Benfica is a public company. You can download their financials to see where the money is coming and going.
David Luiz 35million Di Maria 36million Ramires 22million Fabio Coentrao 30million Javi Garcia 25million Witsel 40million = 188 million euros + Scubs = 200+million euros Yet debt went up TWO HUNDRED ********ING MILLION! Explain to me how the hell this adds up?
ffs im pissed off reading those numbers we should have 100% liquidated our ********ing debt with that single selling spree alone.
pisses me off more when you think with that money we could have bought ********ing Cristiano Roanldo and paid him for 9 seasons with those 6 transfers alone...
LFV and PDC should both be hung, they have stolen hundreds of millions and have put SLB and FCP into a combined debt of 600million.. These thieves have made the entire country go hungry with there greed. With there created artificial debt + stolen cash it combines into over 1billion euros, thats 100 000 euros robbed from each citizen of Portugal. Burn em' to the bone
Does anyone have a link to the proposed R&C? If the proposed one is not available, what about the 2011/12 one?
Here is the Bloomberg business week site for Benfica (stock symbol: SLBEN). http://investing.businessweek.com/r...aset=incomeStatement&period=A¤cy=native It shows the financials over a 4 year window with the most recent included fiscal year ending June 30, 2011. I wasn't a finance major so I'll leave it to any experts here to deduce how bad the trends are. I think (don't kill me on this, like I said I wasn't a finance major) that the take home message is that over time Benfica has improved it' year to year bottom line, meaning the club loses less money on operations every year; the bad news is that Benfica seems to have used it's strengthening operational bottom line and infrastructure assets to issue massive amounts of long term debt, I'm assuming for player purchases, which as of 2011 seems to be sitting at 382.1 million euros. As a side note, one thing I don't understand is why Benfica's Property, Plant, and Equipment seemingly can be revalued at will so that the yearly balance sheet is always balanced. If any of you are accountants I would love to learn how this works. One horrible thing that seems to comes out of this is that acquiring long term debt doesn't appear to count as a yearly expense, only servicing it does. So basically all the money Benfica is making on player sales, tickets, TV, merch, etc is being used to service the clubs debt load and operational expenses. The club will need to continue to raise it's revenue streams significantly to get to a point where it operates at a year to year profit which would seemingly be good, but the kick to the balls is that Benfica can reach a point where it operates profitably year to year but would continue to have to increase it's total debt burden because they need more money for player buys the following season than they can ever generate in profit the previous. The club only has to raise it's revenues enough to service the debt to keep this cycle going.
This is what most major clubs and company's have been doing for a very long time, probably the last 20 years. The credit bubble is about to burst though and the lending will eventually come to a halt. With that said, I agree with Benfica on taking advantage of the credit bubble to stay competitive with the other clubs. When everything hits the fan, the credit is going to be written off amongst these clubs by the financial institutions. In terms of the re-valuation of property - equipment, its an easy way to "cook" the books, balance out financials, hide money, etc. Its very common near large metro area's because the assumption is property always goes up.
I think everyone is under estimating salaries at Benfica. Seriously you think $1m is tops....lol that's funny. I couldn't really reply till I googled and found some figures. In 2003/04 the debt figure was €375m whilst the money generated at the Luz was €70m. Now the figure stands at €320m and we generate €100m. In 2003/04 spent €26m salary 2005/06 where we spent the most, €31m. in 2007/08 it was €27m.
Fabio Coentrao could be on his way back to Benfica in January. Jose Mourinho has not used him since August 23 in the Super Taca. http://www.abola.pt/nnh/ver.aspx?id=356491
Aimar is my best player of all time, but lets face the fact ( he is gonna be 33 next month) and we need someone as good as him in the future.
