Benfica's last game was on Sept 1. next game is on Sept 23. JJ will not miss a game.

 

I was referring to league games.

 

i'm not talking about Benfica, i'm talking about the league as a whole.

what other leagues? England, Spain, Italy?? It's a trickle up affect..the fans go see the games, therefore more tv deals, endorsements and advertisements, therefore more $$$ to be able to PAY the players, therefore more investments into the teams and leagues.

The ONLY reason we can't keep our star players in this league, IMO, is because we can't compete with the bigger leagues in offering the players higher salaries!! And how do you do that, well you begin with bringing more income to the team.

 

What? You can't be serious...LFV has been one of Benfica most economic presidents in some time. He has increased our income stream considerably since he took charge.

LFV asks fans to be patient in regard to replacing Javi and Witsel. Say's Benfica will replace them with 3 or 4 players that are equal to or better than them. Adds that he's excited about the young Portuguese talent we have on the B Team and has high hopes that most of them can reach the A team.

So you'd be ok with a president who steals $$$ from the team, has the team constantly in debt, doesn't pay players??? cause that's how it used to be before LFV.

 

You need money to win championships. He's been going in the right direction, and we have become more competitive. It sucks that we lost both Witsel and Javi. Javi I don't think we would have ever saw a better offer for Javi, it sucks but he served us well.

In terms of Witsel, they paid the release clause, he accepted terms. There was nothing we could do.

 

Exactly, Porto are more targeted with their acquisition. Our buys seem to be a shoot and spray technique, which we then sell 1 out of 5 for massive amounts.
