Awful news. Wellington will be out for 8 months. Looks like a ligament injury to his knee. It’s a shame because he was our best DM.

Time to get a good look at Casemiro and Denilson. I guess Fabricio will be starting..

Fabricio can't get out of the trainers rooms. Quite honestly I’m okay since I was never a big fan of him to begin with. This will be good for Casemiro.

3-3 vs Palmeiras yesterday. The team played well, but unfortunately, so did Palmeiras. Hernan Barcos, formerly of Liga de Quito, scored a nice goal against us - but I liked our final goal, a long-range shot by Fernandinho, better.

São Paulo looks at least more dedicated and gritty than it did at the final phases of 2011. With this, we should be a contender for the Copa do Brasil.

both have been so disappointing thus far. Hopefully they can turn it around this coming Brasileirao.

What a win! 3-2 against Santos and we were down to 10 men. Lucas man of the match. A confidence builder given São Paulo beat a team viewed by many as Brazil's best and which deployed its best players.

I missed the game (was watching Madrid), but I wish I didn't. Judging from the highlights it was a real jogao. Lucas looks like he will blow up this season, and hopefully Fabiano stays injury free because the Selacao could really use him. I like Sao Paulos team a lot. Sucks they didn't make the Libertadores.

I doubt it. From what I know the judicial decision invalidates the liminar that made it possible for him to breach his contract with São Paulo. He is legally no longer a player of Internacional. However, if he wishes to breach that contract, he can do so by paying the fine (R$9 million).

Internacional gets shafted because it already paid half (R$4.5 million). I imagine something will be worked out. São Paulo doesn't really want him again - he will not be welcome by fans who feel he's a traitor, and he was very upset about this whole issue, to the extent he was barred from playing The Strongest in Bolivia.

I actually don't want him back. São Paulo is gelling right now and Internacional needs him to contend for the Libertadores. I want him to stay in Porto Alegre, but I also want my team to be fully compensated for what it is entitled to according to Brazil's laws.

They'll either buy him for those 3.5 mil euros like they should, or it will speed his move to Europe.

There's no way shape or form that he is gonna wear a Sao Paulo jersey ever again.. it's all about the money.

São Paulo is only acting within the law.

The court's judgment only states that the existing contract between Oscar and São Paulo must be honored and is still valid. Oscar broke the contract by using a liminar (a decision by a lower court judge) and this liminar was reversed. The liminar is what began this entire mess. If he wanted to leave São Paulo, all he had to do was to pay the contract recision fine. All of this is absolutely not of Internacional's concern; Internacional signed Oscar based on that liminar, but now that the liminar has been nullified, either Internacional or Oscar must compensate São Paulo (pay the contract recision fine).

What if it was reversed? Supposed Internacional had invested resources and money raising a very talented player from its youth divisions and suddenly São Paulo took him without compensating Internacional, while Internacional had a valid contract with this player? Wouldn't São Paulo feel it got one amazingly good deal? This is EXACTLY what is happening.

São Paulo no longer wants Oscar. It now has an 11-game unbeaten streak and it has won its last 8 games, with a come-from-behind 4-2 win vs. Ituano and an epic victory 3-2 against Santos. São Paulo is doing a great job of rebuilding, and Luís Fabiano hasn't even played lately. He will return in due course, and São Paulo will contend for the São Paulo State Championship and in the Copa do Brasil. I have hopes for the latter, because a title win would place São Paulo in the 2013 Libertadores.

We do not NEED Oscar. If he rejoined the team, he'd make the team better; he is excellent. But the fans now hate him. He would not feel welcome. I really don't care if he signs with Internacional until 2025. And frankly I hope he rejoins them so Internacional is strong for the elimination rounds of the Libertadores; they are, after all, a Brazilian team. All I wish is that the contract be honored; São Paulo is defending what was written and agreed upon and was a binding legal pact between consenting parties. This same legal pact states there would be a fine to be paid should an unilateral abrogation take place.

What I don't understand about the whole thing is why Oscar's side of the story involves Sao Paulo not making payments on his salary when he was with them. Is this true, and if so, why doesn't that entitle him to break the contract?

NotreDameFlamengo, can you please provide information on São Paulo not paying his salary? My team isn't known for that, and from all the coverage I've read about this issue, including newspapers from Porto Alegre, I have not once seen anything saying Oscar left because São Paulo failed to pay him his wages.

I could very well be wrong, which is why I asked. I thought I remembered reading an article that stated that was the reason Oscar tried leaving. I just tried doing a half-ass search for it, but couldn't find anything. My bad on that one.

    EDIT: Found something: http://www.sambafoot.com/en/news/29...car_must_return_to_sao_paulo_immediately.html

The article states his wages for 2010 weren't paid, but his contract w/ my team was originally abrogated through that liminar in 2009, and he was announced as an Inter player on June 17, 2010.

Makes sense. It was a weird sentence to throw into an article like they did, without any background to it.

We can all take a joke but you may wish to rethink posting pictures mocking SPFC here. This is the SPFC thread - it'd be nicer if this stuff didn't happen again.

I don't actually mind the jokes he does in the Santos forum, I guess it's in the nature of a corinthiano... But "bixarada" is a low blow and has nothing to do with football. I can't agree with this.

I do it in good healthy competitive spirit. No malice intended.

Luis Fabiano also had it coming.. He lauded at the fact that Sao Paulo was gonna finish above Corinthians in The Paulistao... he got what he deserves for being arrogant.

But since it hasn't yet ended, you don't know who will finish ahead and atop of whom, yes? ;)
