What does everyone think? Is it okay for fans to rush the field after big wins to show your excitement?

I rushed the Colorado Rapids Eastern Conference win. They told me to get off but the security really didnt care and I hugged some players!!

check it out - its at 1:19

What we're OK with doesn't matter. I'd check with stadium security or the police. They'd be the ones who might give you a wood shampoo. :)

haha... well anyone who has rushed a field knows that there are securely guards that try and catch you as you slip past them. But often times some of the players hug you and give you high fives as you come together in celebration..

wouldnt you love being a player and winning a huge game against difficult odds, only to see all of your fans come around you in support and cheer?

Once in a semi-pro league game in Chicago 45 or 50 years ago, a fan rushed onto the field to celebrate after Willy Roy, later an NASL player and college coach, scored a key goal. Roy knocked him flat with one punch.

Idiot attention whores stage pitch invasions (first act of narcissism) then post about how awesome they are on Bigsoccer (second act of narcissism). Bonus third act: asking the BS community if "it was OK".

You're lucky Dudley Do-Right and the rest of the RCMP didn't sodomize you right then and there.

    (Standard disclaimer...blah blah blah)

Let me think...could be the bragging about it on BigSoccer aspect. Or the act itself. Or the seeking approval part. Or all three!

Actually, the best part of this (and the only reason I continue to play this game): your account seems to have been created almost specifically for this thread. That's quite nearly the definition of narcissism.

No problem! Have a nice day continuing to ask BigSoccer if the thing you're bragging about is OK, even though it's usually an arrestable offense and takes away from the people who actually earned the trophy.

thats exactly why I made this thread.
But its a very legitimate argument and opinion piece that debates the pros and cons of rushing the field.

I don't think it takes away from the players and Cops do not care as i walked by numerous cops going out on the field.

I think people like you are much more offensive to the site than I am. I brought a very good topic to the plate(especially looking at other topics), I had great documentation, and I don't verbally attack people. I suggest you leave the site.

    This was an opinion piece?

That's one hell of a low bar, here in Soccer in the USA. This place is chock full of crap. So yours actually fits in quite well, though most usually lament that this place is such a dumping ground.

See, now you're just pulling everyone's leg.

That would be pretty odd for a typed-and-read medium.

    Nah.

EDIT: now that I'm able to click through to that video and link in the OP, I can safely say "what. the. fuck?"

Sweet Jebus...I can't believe I didn't catch this thread until now.

Congrats...you trespassed at a professional sports event. As for the "pros and cons" of doing so...yeah.
