Except that this was already tried once- all those suburbs- Hoffman, Arlington, Elgin, etc...- had a chance to bid for the Fire's stadium, and they all came up way short to Bridgeview's initial proposal for a 50/50 split, and even shorter when Bridgeview decided to pay for the whole damn thing.

And, ask the Sears Centre how their location in Hoffman has helped them. They got crap concerts and a bunch of crappy sports teams that can't come close to filling the place.

    good point -

Most of you seem to be assuming that the sale of the franchise from the evil, ultra-greedy AEG will result in lowered prices for tickets and parking and better tv deals and maybe blowjobs for season ticket-holders (club-level only).

The opposite is really more likely.

Anyone purchasing the club will need to continue to rent through AEG and maybe even subcontract Levy - who knows. You'll have a middle-man to pay along with your seat.

Also, anyone who ponies up 40 million to buy the club will have to service that financing somehow.

Prices will go up, not down. Personally, as long as they play interesting soccer and win - I don't care. But some of you seem to expect a benevolent charity is coming to your rescue.
