I think we'd see another forward sub if we had Plata, Findley, or Seba on the bench. Otherwise we feel comfortable with this defense and hope to pip a late winner, which means keeping Sabo on the field.
Major props to Beckerman for having the engine to go 90+ tonight following his game for the US midweek. He's a heck of a player.
I am starting to understand the whole "KC thugs" POV, but nobody prepared me for the amount of diving. I used to respect KC, but after this game I'm having a hard time.
So happy to see Jeff get an amazing match. I love seeing how the team supports him after his rare first-team appearances. Schuler is a beast and I adore him. Mulholland is also a beast. I'm glad PKs were not an option in this match, or I may have had some serious PTSD nightmares.
Funny you call Schuler a beast, my wife and I were saying the same thing about him. We always say Beckerman is a beast. That from when we attended a US Open cup match in DC and a DC fan behind us was both disappointed and happy to see Beckerman on the bench because, as he said over and over, "Beckerman is a beast!" He wanted to watch Beckerman, but didn't want Beckerman to make life hard for DC. DC won the game, as usual, it was USOC.
yes, he did. But I think he made fun of it saying that no one ever talks there anymore, and now it's all on twitter.
Oh my gosh, just rewound the recording. Yes, he did. Not in glowing terms! He said "back in the old days" the players knew to stay away from BigSoccer. Hilarious.
Atinella was the MVP tonight no question. Beckerman looked solid, Sabo sucked (surprise coming from me) bottom line RSL got lucky getting a point in this crap fest of a match. Sadly this was supposed to be the MLS match of the week.
The juxtaposition of KC's midfield and Toronto's Midfield was staggering. Totally got out played in the middle of the pitch. I thought Javi, Ned, and Gil all looked a little off. Muholland brought some much needed energy. Given that we had both outside backs and keeper out, I'll forgive the defense for giving up a lot of good chances. We were lucky to keep the clean sheet. Hard to blame forwards when the midfield sucked so bad, so they get a pass. We basically looked a man down until they actually went a man down. Here's to road points...
