AccuWeather for Kansas City, KS this Saturday: High of 59, low of 41. 3% chance of thunderstorms. The temp on the pitch between the players should be significantly more frigid.
Shots already being fired at RSL http://www.realsaltlake.com/blog/post/2014/04/01/sportings-dom-dwyer-i-hate-rsl-very-much
In an ironic twist, someone from RSL will trip near Aurelian Colin and he will get the red card almost everyone not from SKC believed he was due in the MLS Cup.
Honestly, either Spring or Fall is the best time to have this game. The heat/humidity won't be a factor in fact even if the temps are in the low 50's at the time of the game it will be perfect temperature-wise on the pitch. I cycle in this weather and love it when it's cooler like it is now. The real question for me is how is RSL going to change up its game plan a bit? We need to be quicker with the ball against KC because slowing down the play only encourages them to mug the player with the ball to create the turnover and start their fast break. We have to make them chase to pull them out of position and to do this requires being quick on the ball.
Love this picture from the RSL website (http://www.realsaltlake.com/blog/po...yers-comments-i-dont-even-consider-trash-talk). Seems like a "caption this" moment.

SKC are not gong to give any player any space this game. Everyone needs to be quick and precise with the ball. If not SKC will definitely control the game the way they want and be able to win thus game fairly easily. Lets hope RSL is ready to play hard and win another game. Definitely able to win this game.
This is Cassar's chance to shine. His team's biggest difference over a Kreis team is the outside back involvement in the attack. If that is utilized properly, SKC will just be chasing all game long.
It will be interesting to note any differences. Which makes me wonder, will Kries stick with the diamond next year, or would that be frowned upon by his Manchester City benefactors? Next year will also prove to be interesting.
But will Wingert be ready? Does Beltran start tonight? And if so, does he have the gas to motor the right flank all game on Saturday? Or do we see Balchan and/or Mansally start? I'm not overly optimistic for this one. But I hope Dwyer has to eat his hatred for RSL for breakfast Sunday morning.
Seems unlikely that Beltran will start tonight. I would expect JK to go with Parkhurst on the left and Yedlin on the right. He should be plenty ready to go for SKC on Saturday. Besler will likely play 90 for the US, and Zusi will likely also start, so this should impact them more. RSL should have plenty of chances to win this, IMO. It will all depend on their mental toughness on the road. Hopefully that carries over from last season a little. That will be the true test of Cassar's effect on the team.
Not enough time to judge really. I guess the best thing you could say is that I almost forgot he was playing after he came on.
I thought he looked good. Didn't someone say he had 100% passing? I didn't have any oh #%¥£ moments with him, though he wasn't tested all that much. It's hard to really say without some more minutes for him. Plus Schuler was in full-on beast mode, so that helped
Why the actual hell is this game so late? Can't imagine anyone on the east coast is going to be staying up to watch some friendly. I mean, we're in the west and if I wasn't already staying up late I would be going to bed right now. Oh and don't forget ESPN putting some youth sporting event that (of course) always goes over it's allotted time right before the game. Screw this channel, literally nothing has changed.
Beltran has not looked solid in this match, giving up way too much space, all Mexico's attacks are coming down his side. He just isn't fast or skilled enough to be playing on this level. Beckerman has looked good, Nick hasn't had much to do.
