Yet again, The Great RSL travels to the home of grunge rock, Starbucks and rain, rain and yet more rain. Here is the starting line up for the Seattle Sounders, a.k.a the Microsoft Operating Systems.

Strikers: Windows 98SE, Windows XP, Windows 98
Midfielders: Windows 7, Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows 95
Defense: Windows ME, Windows 3.0, Windows 3.1, Windows Vista
    Goalie: MS-DOS

    Coach: Bill "Uber-Nerd" Gates
    Bench: Windows 8

Coach Gates has his best striker, Windows XP, up front with the two twins, Windows 98 and Windows 98SE on each flank. The midfielders are Windows NT and Windows 2000 in the center with Windows 7 in the left and Windows 95 on the right. The defense is anchored by the first two players on the team, Windows 3.0 and Windows 3.1 in the center with Windows Vista and Windows ME on the flanks. In goal is MS-DOS. (Note. Although not a Windows operating system, MS-DOS doesn't "crash" or "ball-watch" like other Windows operating systems (I'm talking to you Vista!). Coming off the bench is the untried, untested Windows 8, which I doubt we will see during this game since it's just not quite ready for release onto the pitch.

I hope Vista is in goal because he really, really sucks.

For this thread I would have went with RSL vs. the First Alert All Stars. Chevy Chase, keystone cops etc.

Seattle falls & flops more than the Italian diving team. They suck.

If i'm game planning, I'm going to attack ME; definitely the weakest link.

Attack up the right side! I once saw Windows ME crash trying to open Internet Explorer. A stiff breeze could knock it over.

Although, you've got to expect a little bit of support from a more stable, steady Windows 7 in front of ME. Smart lineup, rabbit man.

Since Vista and ME sucked so bad do they only count as half a player each? Otherwise they have 12 on the pitch. Leave it to Bill to figure out a way to hack the system to get the advantage.

threads like this remind me that these boards are full of complete and utter nerds.

As for the RSL lineup, I'd hope we do something like this:

    ----------------Rimando----------------
    Tony----Borchers---Schuler---Wingert
    --------------Beckerman(?)---------------
    -----Alvarez----------------Johnson---
    ------------------Gil-------------------
    ------Bonfigli-----------Espy------------

    • (?) Is Beckerman suspended for this match through yellow card accumulation?
    • If so, slide Alvarez back to DM and put either Grabs or Steele in the middle.
    • I say give Sabo a rest but keep him on the bench. The guy has worked his ass off the last few games (even if some of you hate what he has done...) and deserves a rotation.
    • PJ has no business starting, I think we need to try this Bonfigili kid a bit more.
    • Espy gives this team fits historically, so he is a must
    • Same with Johnson
    • Olave needs a rest as well. Though, with Eddie Johnson starting for Seattle, maybe we need to tell him he'll get his rest later in the year.
    • I really wish we had a 3rd outside back, like Russell in year's past, to make a rotation. We're playing with fire making Tony and Wingert start this many games.

No, he earned good behavior in the NE game. But now his good behavior is exhausted...he will be suspended after his next yellow.

speaking of montero, over/under on the number of times he undercuts a player who is going for a header while he has zero intention of playing the ball? and subsequently doesnt get any sort of warning for this complete hack of a play?

I can't wait until he does this and gets completely hammered by the guy he undercuts. I played against guys who would do something similar and to get them to stop all it takes is you landing all of your body weight on top of them.

Of course, given some of the morons at the clink and the love of Freddy "no means no" Montero, that will get an RSL player an ejection

    One important thing to note.
While this is our 3rd game in 8 days, it is also our last game before a 2 week break.

I think you see, contrary to the lineup I posted, all of our healthy starters on the pitch for this one.

    --------------Nicky -------------
    Tony, Olave, Borchers, Chris
    ---------------KB----------------
    -------Will --------- Ned --------
    ---------------Gil ----------------
    ---------Espy ----- Sabo---------

(side note: why the hell doesn't this new setup have that cool lineup feature?!)

Just wanted to point out that you omitted such star players as
Windows 3.11 the first ball watcher
Windows NT 3.51 our original lock down defender.
We also recently cut Bob upon learning he was not a real player.
But you rightly left Windows Auto out of the line-up as he is only available for away games :D

15 to 32, Huss has said the line-up tags will be back in the event you have not seen that.

the words quad and strain give me nightmares, many nightmares of months of rehab and nasty looking x-rays. and old people sharing the rehab pool with their aquatic exercise floaties at 6 in the morning.

I don't understand the Vista hate. Sure it started out terrible (mostly due to companies writing terrible device drivers) but after a year or so it turned into a pretty good OS. Windows 7 is the best imo, and it was built off of Vista.

Gameplan should be to try and bypass 7 and run straight at ME. I swear that version wanted to crash just trying to boot up.

So we tend to surpass expectations in Seattle so I hope it continues this weekend.
Unlike many I thought Paulo looked very active and dangerous against Chicago and would like to see him get some more time. We are going to need another option at striker later in the season and soccer is a game where hot streaks are sometimes only a goal away. Just look at Montero he struggled early, got a goal about 4 matches back and has been on fire since.
I would be happy to see less of Steele, until after the 80th minute.

This is a must win...with SJ and Seatle breathing down our necks and the All Star break quick approaching, I gotta be Captain Obvious here....come on boys! Bring us home 3 points....without a KB suspension!

Not really a must win but a match we can get points out of.

I may be being a little melodramatic, but with both SJ and Seatle having a few games in hand, I see that 3 points is needed as badly as I need a new job. :alien:
