That is me you are referring to. But perhaps thats not the curse after all because we didn't attend last night because of a prior engagement.
Still can't believe the result, and am surprised more hasn't been said about the handball in the box from a late Sabo attempt.

I agree with this part. The fact that RSL lost their composure and couldn't seem to get their mojo back after Beltran's error is the most worrying part of the whole thing. If that persists, then I have serious worries about this team. I'm willing to hold off judgment on that for a few more games. Granted, I didn't watch the Minnesota game, so maybe there's a trend already, but I did watch the game against Chivas on the weekend and they looked fine to me then. We'll see.

I disagree with this part. Every team makes mistakes, sometimes serious ones. The question is whether the team picks itself up after that and still gets a result. RSL didn't do that last night, but they have in the past. With a fully healthy Olave and Morales, maybe they would have last night as well. Who knows?

Overall, I agree with Ivensor's sentiments.

I'm not freaking out. This loss was deflating, but mistakes happen. It took a shit-ton of mistakes to cause the loss. I'm sure no one feels worse than Beltran, Olave, Borchers, and Rimando. It was freakish.

Our midfield needed to drop into the spaces vacated by LAG's pressuring players to provide better passing leans. They didn't adjust and it caused the backline fits. As others have said, credit to LAG for executing their game plan. I thought LD would burn himself out early once I realized that was LAG's plan, but his superhuman conditioning pulled him and LAG through.

Let's home the team simply forgets about the mistakes and moves on. No other takeaway.

    ....

Finally - playing "If you believe..." more than three times in a row is incredibly annoying. I hate it.

Wasn't on the highlights from mlssoccer.com, but i'll keep looking. On TV, it was clear with the replay and the announcers agreed. Hopefully i can find some sort of replay of it.

    seriously
I'm getting sick of the PA system pumping it at us.
Let the fans dictate when it should be sung. We did that last night.

Get rid of it after goals, at half, after the game, etc.
It should be, maybe, before the match at most

Given how often it's blasted during the game, I'm really doubting the validity of this being a home grown thing. Just feels like the FO had it created and tried to pass it off as Steinekert doing it because he wanted to. It should be played prior to kickoff and perhaps at the start of the 2nd half. I'm not a fan of it being the only song played. Bring back sweet escape. As much as I hate the song, it was our thing and I grew to love it.

And stop randomly playing it during the match. There was that time at the end when it was naturally sung and it felt good. It was just prior to, and during Beltran's shot.

Agreed on all accounts, except for the FO creating the song. I believe that he wrote it (whether or not the FO came to him... who can say?) But I think that they took the immensely positive response and ran with it. Waaayyyy past the finish line. It sort of kills the ole chant, in my opinion, and that's one the whole crowd should know, regardless of whether or not they've even been to an RSL match.

Yes, please bring back sweet escape.
I bet if you asked Steinekert if he wanted his song played this much by the PA system he'd say no to it.

    We need more songs.
Not just one we hammer into your ********ing soul whether you like it or not

The game last Saturday wasn't our defensive norm, but rather an anomaly. Those who have seen how porous our defense has been all season have honestly been blind.

I wouldn't call our defense "porous". They have had some outstanding games and have generally been stout. Was it Seattle or Portland that didn't even get a shot on goal in their own house? However, there have been some cracks in the ReAL Wall. Earlier in the season teams were killing us at the back post on corners. The center mids have had wtf moments that we haven't seen for a couple of years. All of our backs and mids have been flirting with poor back passes all season. Donovan finally made us pay. Donovan knew what Beltran was going to do with the ball way before Beltran got around to doing it. Landon was already sprinting to the intercept spot before Beltran completed his turn to pass the ball to Rimando. Hopefully our guys will have learned a lesson from that embarrassing moment.

AS far as the Dunseth statement mentioned by the Galaxy poster, it was a stupid thing to say. I sometimes wonder about Dunny, and last night was one of those times.

Beckerman has been pushing forward more as of late and this could be contributing to the problems we saw Wednesday night.

    I noticed this as well.
He seems a bit too excited to get into the attack.
It can pay off (see first goal) but it can really really hurt us if we get caught with the ball (see LA second goal)

I could have articulated myself a little better than I did in that post I suppose. I believe that my frustrated profanity filled rant could have been more along the lines of:

I find it disheartening that in games where we will sell out our home stadium, and introduce a potentially large new fan base to the game, that we tend not to perform in a way commiserate with the talent level I know, and expect, to be there. I, also, find it exceedingly frustrating, that the myth of Mr. Beckham and Mr. Donovan will continue to permeate our woefully undereducated population of casual soccer/futbol fans as the class of this league. The non-dedicated fans will continue to believe a large market team such as LA is superior to our small market team simply because they are from that big city out west, and they do that having a very limited exposure to what this team is capable of doing.

I am not diminishing the fact that LA came in and beat us. It was a deserved loss based on our performance. However, I would like it if the fans who don't watch every game, and don't constantly read any news they can get their hands on, to feel as much pride as I do when I see how far this squad has come. I would also hope that they feel as frustrated as I did that night; before remembering it is a just a group of grown men running around for 90 minutes.

To be honest, I found my initial post, swear words and all, to be much more succinct.
