I never get "the team has heart" or no argument. Does anyone really believe that RSL players don't want to win. Do we know of any team in any sport that has won a anything if they didn't have a passion for the game? To me the season will come down how fast can Kyle and Javi can gel and can that synergy translate into enhanced performance for the rest of the team (better timed passes to Sabo and Fabi, better timing in defense etc). As for the rest of the playoffs, they are set now. WC1 Dallas plays WC4 NY WC2 Colorado plays WC3 Crew (what a snore fest). If NY wins, they play LA, and that winner will play Seattle/RSL. If FCD wins, LA gets Crap or Crew and that winner plays Seattle/RSL. Great thing, if NY/Crap/Crew beat LA (lol?), RSL hosts (well after we beat Seattle).
What I worry about isn't that they lack desire to win, but that they are mentally and emotionally fatigued. They've been in training since January(?). That's longer than anyone on this team has been in training except for possibly a few of the S. Americans. Keeping focus may be difficult for some of the players and that is what we are seeing in these last few games.
Exactly as I said. *rolls eyes* The problem hasn't been heart, it's been focus - for WEEKS. AND the problem has been no Kyle. The last time we won was the last time he really played. I don't think they're going to have ANY problem keeping focus in the playoffs, against Seattle. It's a totally different ball game.
So you're saying heart doen't matter in the end then? And I hope they can snap out of it and actually focus. But when you have a team that hasn't focused in well over a month, that makes me a bit nervous.
Oh, they'll have heart. Especially a newly returned Kyle Beckerman. He's always a little over-feisty when he returns after a long absence. I hope he watches that. Same with Will. Will was about jumping off the walls at the Portland game. Love those two. VITAL to our midfield. And I think Will is perfectly named.
