Salt Lake has a lot of attractions for the right person. Never forget that world class talent came to Utah for the Olympics and found it a pretty good place, and some stayed.

Yes, but I also have a hard time forgetting that Donny and Marie had a prominent role in the closing ceremonies....:(

As much as I love Pope, for the right offer, I would ship him yesterday since we are building for next year. But with them only getting him for a couple months, I would think it wouldn't be much more than a later round superdraft pick. In that case, I'd rather have RSL suck up Pope's last few games and have a true class guy retire in SLC. Afterall, we don't have much to hang our hat on.

As much as we would hate to admit this, is there a chance that Pope would un-retire if the venue was different?

What? And be forced to return that odd Giant Head Eddie "original drawing" that DC presented him on Wednesday? :D

If the rumors are true...body falling apart AND certain members of his family not happy in Salt Lake / Park city...probably not.

I think the venue he was talking about wasn't a new stadium, but a new place. What if he was traded to DC? I'll bet he'd do that. It's the closest team to North Carolina, and they love him there. However, I don't see a trade happening, and it would be uncharactaristically uncouth of Pope to burn RSL and Salt Lake in such a fashion.

Love that word. Thanks for bringing it. I swear only about 3 people I know use that word and 2 of them are family memebers and the third is me.

Yikes. Not to be an ingrate regarding their presentation to Pope, but good grief, 'nothing' would have been better than a carnival caricature. How about a nicely framed United Jersey with his name on it. Sheesh.

NICE. The few times I've seen him, I've been impressed. Good pickup, especially for a later superdraft pick.
