So how are we doing with suspensions and yellow card warnings for the next game?

Javi, Kyle, and Russell are all on caution. If they get one in the first leg @ mexico, they will be suspended for the return leg at the RioT. 2 of those players would be very hard to replace, Russell not so much.

I can't believe the turnaround this team executed in the last 3 years. It seems absolutely impossible.

Anyway, hope we aren't embarrassed in the final. :)

RSL can beat either of those teams (CA/Monterrey) if they have true home field advantage in the second leg. Buy every ticket you can afford!

Hey, I'm in for all I can get.

Not a season ticket holder, though, so...I'm probably going to have to beg someone on this board to pick a couple up for me.

Don't forget about Grabavoy. He picked up a yellow in the 90th minute in the home leg against Columbus.

RSL will have another trophy presentation on their home field.

Previous Final Trophy Competition History (Competitive, Non-Friendly Matches):

2005 Rocky Mountain Cup - Won by Colorado (at RES)
2006 Rocky Mountain Cup - Won by Colorado (at RES)
2008 Western Conference Finals - Won by NYRB (at Rio Tinto Stadium)
2009 Rocky Mountain Cup - Won by RSL (at Rio Tinto Stadium)

The first 3 trophy presentations were just too heart breaking. Let's hope that RSL can win their second ever trophy in their home stadium!

    WATCH the 360 video.

Those guys did a far better job of capturing the Saprissa fans than Fox Soccer did. Dear lord, that was both hostile and amazing.

Hats off to the Saprissa fans - what a zoo, makes me almost wish I were a Saprissa fan, outside of the animosity and throwing cans at the team and shouting obscenities, but the movement and singing are amazing.

The Enya didn't even bother me that much. Best video of the series.

Quite a few players on both teams in serious danger. I think (hope) that game gets chippy tonight. Whichever team advances will have a suspended player or 2 (and hopefully more) for our series down there.

I don't want to hear the "well we want to beat their best players" bull shit either. We want to win. period

Here's hoping that he survives tonight. Cervantes had at least 2 key assists for RSL in the 5-4 game in the group stage. :D

And this game has gotten mention in the online press in Canada, Costa Rica and Mexico.

Precisely. When the name is engraved on the trophy, it doesn't say Real Salt Lake, 2011 (did not beat their best players). It simply would say, Real Salt Lake, 2011

Definitely agree with this. RSL has proven that yellow card accummulation/suspension is something that can be controlled and managed and there is no shame in taking advantage of it at the end of the day. If they (Azul or Monterrey) lose players to it then it's their own damn fault and they can't use that as an excuse when we're bouncing all over their bench scrubs.

cruz azul scores, 1-0 in the game, 2-2 aggregate with azul advancing due to away goals. it was a rocket shot, the keeper parries away, but villaluz is there to clean up at far post. monterrey on their back heels right now.

Ponce for Cruz Azul has a yellow and will miss the final if they advance.

The lights aren't working in Estadio Azul...

in a bit of irony, half the lights at estadio azul have stopped working. its funny that saprissa had no problem with the lights and azul is.
