So what are we made of this year? We get to see on Wednesday. Snag a result someplace we traditionally struggle, and maybe we're still something special. Lose, and we're pretty much a .500 club at 5-4 on the year. Interesting times. Little of this coming FCD's way, maybe? I know we can challenge Olave's red to get him back for this game, but I'd be ok if Jason decided not to. Olave could use a break, I dont think he's had one since the season started.
Dunno. Seems like saving a challenge for later in the season and giving Olave a break might be worth the high hundreds, low thousands to avoid the fine. Onward and upward: to our first win in Texas we go! And I'm going to be there! Pretty stoked for Wednesday. I hope we can get the result.
How can Kreis publically say that he "contemplated pulling his team off the field" over that decision and then not challenge the ruling when he has the ability to do so? If he's not gonna act then IMO he's just whining. Even if Olave was scheduled for a break it should be the principle of the thing.
I don't think he was contemplating pulling his team from the field, but rather walking off himself in protest. At least, that's how I understood the only quote I've seen on the matter. But yeah, good point. If it's challenged and reversed, do we still have 2 challenges?
This probably won't be a popular pov on here, but I'm really sick of Kreis saying shit like this every time a game starts to go south. The ref isn't having a good day? ******** it, everyone off the pitch. But he never means it... so shut the ******** up about it and move on, Kreis. [LINEUP-4-4-2]PJ, Sabo, Johnson, KB, Gil, Seba, Wingert, Borchers, Schuler, Tony, Nicky[/LINEUP-4-4-2] Bench: Reynish, Cruze, Tanaka, Alvarez, Steele, Morales, Bonfigli No reason to rush Javi into starting this match. If the game could use him around the 60 or 70th minute, then give him a run. If not, rest the guy. We are such a better/different team when he is healthy. I'd like that to actually last longer than a couple games this time around. I'm not holding out much hope for this one. Dallas is a team built to expose our weaknesses. We don't have Olave so their strikers could be in store for a great game, especially Castillo - who Schuler will likely get placed on without Olave
i totally agree, he needs to grow up a little more in this area, he still gets really emotional when everything doesnt go RSL's way in a game. hopefully he is smarter than that and can see that losing one game in bad circumstances isnt worth the resulting fine and suspension he would receive for walking, which would be much more damaging to the team.
well, this is definitely one way the Gestapo (MLS) helped our schedule... Seems like RSL always traveled to Dallas in the middle of summer, giving the desert boys almost 0 chance of competing in the heat. I'm sure it will still be warm an muggy but not as bad as it could have been! Is it too early in the season (or just too desperate) to call this a must win game! Sure feels like it...
Weather.com says forecast for Frisco, TX Saturday is 82°F with 66% Humidity. I'd guess weather will play a little factor. Maybe some fans will even been on the far side of the stadium which is usually empty?
If you think this team can win the Supporters Shield, then yeah, it's probably the best "must win" candidate of the season thus far. If you are like me, though, and think the SS is out of reach no matter how well the team plays this year (given KC's schedule) then this is a game in which we need to avoid further injury, try and get a point, and fix our defensive issues Interesting note: If Kyle gets a yellow in this match, he'll be suspended against TFC. This shouldn't decide if he starts or not, he's our captain and needs to be out there. If there was a game I would be ok with him missing, it would be at home vs TFC, too... so yeah, if he's going to get that yellow card suspension, better do it now
It's going to be windy, and a high of 85. Y'all are probably thinking of Houston when you talk about humidity, by the way. It's not particularly humid in Dallas.
Not right now in April. But in the summer its unbearable. Not as bad as Houston. But its bad. You don't want to be outside in July/August.
