So, Servette actually got a point and ... lost ground on Luzern and FCZ, both who pulled out wins. If Servette can make a run at survival, I wonder if LS and FCZ will be the three. Luzern seems to have too good of a team to be in the bottom. The last time Servette won the league title was a three way affair with LS and FCZ. If Servette is to survive, they really need to get points, and points fast. Basel Servette with the top team in the league this week, as opposed to the 2nd placed team last week. the Sion-LS derby should be interesting while the YB-FC Luzern matches have been good ones in the past few years.
October 27 FT Sion 1 - 1 Lausanne Sports October 28 FT Servette 2 - 0 Grasshoppers FT St. Gallen 1 - 0 Thun Postp. Young Boys Bern ? - ? Lucerne FT Zurich 1 - 2 Basel Servette won!!!! YB and FC Luzern are postponed due to the first major snowstorm of the year. There is some hope for Servette after all. 4 points in the last two matches from the top two teams. Not too bad. http://www.sport.sf.tv/Nachrichten/...ette-mit-ueberraschendem-Sieg-ueber-Leader-GC FCSG and Thun had some issues, after a breakaway that did not result in a PK for Thun, FCSG scored off a great volley. As soon as the ball had gone in, the Thun players surrounded the ref to protest the lack of a PK on their end of the field. Lots of FCSG chances that they did not convert. 6 min of added time in the 2nd half, the orange ball came out and Challandes got sent to the showers. A fun match in the snow. http://www.sport.sf.tv/Nachrichten/...sball/St.-Gallen-schlaegt-Thun-erneut-mit-1-0 Sion - LS drew despite some very dangerous attacking chances for both teams. http://www.sport.sf.tv/Nachrichten/...ll/Sion-erreicht-nur-ein-Remis-gegen-Lausanne Murat Yakin got his first win for Basel in the snow in Zurich. The yellow ball was out from the beginning. Two goals in the first half helped Basel to the win. http://www.sport.sf.tv/Nachrichten/Archiv/2012/10/28/Fussball/Basel-beschert-Murat-Yakin-den-1.-Sieg

November 3 19:45 Basel ? - ? Young Boys Bern 19:45 Grasshoppers ? - ? Lausanne Sports November 4 13:45 Lucerne ? - ? Servette 13:45 Thun ? - ? Zurich 16:00 St. Gallen ? - ? Sion Big matches all around. Basel-YB which used to be for 1st place is now key for both squads. YB if they want to make a run and close the gap to the top 4, Basel if they want to make a run at both FCSG and GCZ. Luzern - Servette should be an intense one where Servette will look to continue their mini-run of success and close the gap on Luzern even further. FCSG-Sion should be another fun one to watch.
November 3 FT Basel 2 - 0 Young Boys Bern FT Grasshoppers 1 - 1 Lausanne Sports November 4 FT Lucerne 1 - 1 Servette FT Thun 1 - 4 Zurich FT St. Gallen 0 - 3 Sion Thun is in the middle of a free-fall. Servette almost with its 2nd win in a row. FCSG with an early red card, then the floodgates opened. I wonder if LS will be able to keep Chris Malonga this winter break. He is playing really well.
2 weeks break now with European Cups, Swiss Cup and NT friendlies... hope Servette can continue the progress, they've really improved during the last 4 matches and would have deserved more than 5 points out of them
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/20....match.fixing.1st.ld.writethru.368/index.html Darko Damjanovic, Christian Leite, and David Blumer were all acquitted.
17 November FCZ-Luzern LS-Thun 18 November Servette - Sion YB - FCSG Basel - GCZ Some very interesting matches this weekend. Can Thun stop its slide at LS? Will the Servette revival be short-lived of can they continue their climb against their managers former club? Can FCSG right itself against YB. Will Basel declare themselves as a legitimate team for the championship? It should be a fun weekend.
LS-Thun 3-0. http://www.sport.sf.tv/Nachrichten/Archiv/2012/11/17/Fussball/Lausanne-schlaegt-Thun-zu-zehnt Two horrible keeper mistakes by Thun led to two goals (1st and 3rd). A very soft second yellow card to Sanogo in the 26' led to 11v10 for Thun, but they looked inept for the majority of the match. FCZ - Luzern 0-2. http://www.sport.sf.tv/Nachrichten/...sball/FCZ-nach-maessiger-Leistung-ohne-Punkte Wiss had a great first goal for Luzern. Gavranovic drew a really week PK at the start of the 2nd half, which he then put wide right. Servette - Sion 0-2. http://www.sport.sf.tv/Nachrichten/Archiv/2012/11/18/Fussball/Sion-bezwingt-Servette-zum-2.-Mal Servette played pretty well in this match. In my biased opinion, the PK in the 1st half was a really weak one. Servette had two very good chances in the 1st half, and a whole bunch more in the 2nd half, but could not score. YB - FCSG 0-0. http://www.sport.sf.tv/Nachrichten/...l/St.-Gallen-verschenkt-Sieg-bei-schwachem-YB The Raimondi Red Card in the 37' had the opportunity to really change the match, there was more contact than the Sion PK, and I understand why a Red Card, Denying an Obvious Goal Scoring Opportunity, but there looked to be other defenders close on replay. Great save by Wolfli on the Pk. Almost a hand of God moment in the match, but the referee saw it and gave Mathys a card. Basel - GCZ 4-0. http://www.sport.sf.tv/Nachrichten/Archiv/2012/11/18/Fussball/Klarer-Sieg-fuer-Basel-gegen-Leader-GC The first half was pretty even, but the D. Degan goal was made because of a great dummy by Yapi! Once again, not a good week for PKs, a rather weak PK given to Stocker. On the replay it looks like he is the one who starts the contact, while Grichting tried all he could to avoid making contact. Two questionable non-offside calls (the first was closer than the second) led to Frei goals. GCZ 33FCSG 32Sion 31Basel 30YB 18FCZ 17LS 17Luzern 14Thun 14Servette 7
With two matches left for most teams before the break (YB and Luzern have 3) there are a few things that could happen. Thun plays away home to Basel and at Servette. If Thun were to loose both of those matches, and Sevette win both of their matches (at FCZ and home to Thun) Servette could find itself only 1 point down going into the winter break. As a Servette fan, I would be ecstatic about that, but if Servette were to be within 4 points at the break, I would be happy. The top 4 could totally change positions: GCZ: @ Sion and vs FCZ FCSG: vs Luzern and @Basel Sion: vs GCZ and @ YB Basel: @ Thun and home to FCSG. Basel has the easiest road and 6 points a definite possibility. I could see GCZ with 3, FCSG with 3 and Sion with 3. That would give the league the following: GCZ 36 Basel 36 FCSG 35 Sion 34

Challandes is out at Thun after a vote of no confidence from the team. http://www.washingtonpost.com/sport...aa100c-335a-11e2-92f0-496af208bf23_story.html Mario Lustrinelli will take over for the last two games before the break.

GC gets a point in Sion in remains leader Servette wins in Zurich and is now only 4 points behind Thun. Thun have to play vs Basel today and in the last round before the Christmas/January break Servette receives Thun. The first two matches after the break Servette receives GC first and then has to play vs Thun (away) again. So, maybe by then Servette could pass Thun in the table
FCSG - FC Luzern (1-1) http://www.videoportal.sf.tv/video?id=23f0d452-a524-4d34-9416-e1bfb1f8e47d;DCSext.zugang=sfsport Good chances for both teams. FCSG has looked a little off the past three or four weeks. LS - YB (2-1) http://www.videoportal.sf.tv/video?id=ecc0bbbb-685f-46db-aa3b-165db17377d2;DCSext.zugang=sfsport Another impressive result for LS. Not sure if the Bodadilla red card was warranted. To be fair, not too sure that the PK was warranted as well. That was closer than the Bobadilla red card. YB with two good chances to win at the end, one off the post, the other straight into the keepers arms. FC Thun - FC Basel (3-2) http://www.videoportal.sf.tv/video?id=54654fcf-a214-4daa-81a9-57e7b26b04f2;DCSext.zugang=sfsport Surprise result for Thun, Mario Lustrinelli with a win in his debut. Thun got away with a handball in the penalty area while the score was 2-2. The inability for Basel to clear the ball led to the third goal. They also had a good chance top tie it up at the end to see it go off the post. Both YB and FC Basel were denied by the post in the last 5 min of the match.
