Nah one of their defenders yanked down Sapunaru in the box, but I couldn't see a clear angle either to see if it was justified.

That PK was as close as you can get!

Ruben Michael on for Freddy, straight swap in MF.

Falcao on for Kleber. Just not Kleber's day, as he missed 3 great chances that were set up by Hulk.

Falcao on for Kleber who right before he came off, should have made it 2-0. Puts it over the bar

I thought Kleber made some good runs and will do fine at Porto, but he was probably just a little nervous tonight.

Last sub is Belluschi for Varela, so we'll go to a 4-4-2 or 4-1-3-2.

Same strategy as AVB, protect the lead by subbing in a MF for a W; narrow the middle. It worked well for us last year

    1-0 FT

It wasn't pretty but at least we got the 3 points

    FT, 1-0 victory.

Not our best effort by any means, but this will definitely be one of the toughest away games that we play this season. Nice to get the 3 points in VP's first match in charge.

One thing I took from watching this match is that I don't think we'll necessarily play with an out-and-out DM like in years past, assuming Fernando is indeed sold. Instead, I think all of the central midfielders will cycle and share defensive responsibilities, and Defour should certainly do fine in that regard since he's a 2-way guy.

i thought it was a fairly exciting game, good win.
if they had any finishing they would have had a goal even two.
but kleber shoulda had 2 and hulk 1. i like what i see from kleber he's in right place i agree probably just a little nervous.
souza doesn't impress me all that much tho

paolo sergio and nilson were really impressive for them

Glad we got the win in VSC territory. Those guys always give us a hard time in their home.

Can't wait for the PDC conspiracy theories to follow this one..... I just hope they come up with new material, tired of the whole fruta, "best signing was the ref" and bribing stuff but i bet it will be the same old hater material.

Do you think it should have been a handball on Rolando near the end? It looked indirect.

Our penalty was a 50/50 call. Not an obvious penalty but there was certainly contact.

The haters will have a field day with both of those calls lol

didn't watch it, so can't really comment. by the sounds of it, the PK was a iffy call. of course haters will have a field day, but honetly, can you blame them dude? porto gets the favourable call, and, well we all know what happened yesterday.

    congrats on the win though.

for klieber (someone elses post) is it me or does he not remind you more and more of the 2nd coming of postiga.
