Roster questions and concerns as we head to Honduras

What's a Super Bowl? Is it those giant bowls that IKEA has recently put to stock?

Comes out tomorrow Polska, stay tuned. There have been quite a few leaks though, go check the pre-game thread.

 

One thing is sure; never have we played a match with Honduras which is so heavily anticipated.

 

Whoever plays DM on Wednesday will be the key man for the USMNT. Mark my words.

Ives points out that wcq rules now dress 23 players not the 18 of before. I didnt know that.

 

Fair enough. We were running quite smooth in the Hex, and so by then there was no question of what our team was made of and if it could qualify for the WC...... There is a cloud of "?"'s over this team..........
Maybe I should have written "never have we played a match with Honduras which is so anxiously anticipated." ?

 

How about the 1st match in '09 qualifiers in Chicago after that craptastic match in Costa Rica? Due to Confederations Cup scheduling they were rested and the US on 3 days rest. As usual, we fell behind early.

 

Yeah, turns out starting Marvell Wynne and Beasley as outside backs wasn't the best move

 

And JFT showed that he really isn't very good with pressure in his face.

 

I remember the 2001 being a worry since we were so slammed with injuries. Mathis and Stewart really came through that game - and even Cobi off the bench to kill the game and get carded. But this one is shaping up pretty big, for sure. I hate concacaf qualifying. To little room for error.

This is how I see it working, during the game. Dempsey doesn't play the wing and shouldn't. He's a bit more central but will give a bit of space on the left. This gives us defensive support but a lot to move forward with.
Maybe Kljestan or Williams for Edu. Not really sure.

Key men. We usually play with two or more.

 

I was told under JK we play with 3 DMs and field the most defensive line-up since Bora.

 

I can honestly say this year I didn't care at all about the super bowl. It was more of the Egomaniac Bowl. Considering I had to get up early today anyway I just played FIFA13 instead.

Update: Ives now says SK "should be considered among the possibilities"

 

I have a feeling Gomez starts over Jozy.

 

Now that it seems the official Roster is out...
...I have no questions or concerns.
