Italy manager Prandelli wary of putting pressure on Rossi http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/so...-italy-cesare-prandelli-world-cup-azzurri.ap/
Cesare Prandelli: "Giuseppe Rossi? We wait and wait for him, he is a great guy, but the clock is ticking…"
what do you all put rossi's chance of making the italy roster at after today appearance? the italian NT coach seems to really rate him.
Seems like for sure he's going. Just unsure if he's a starter or not. Balotelli is starting for them. I keep seeing rumors online of Luca Toni getting a chance. And there's that dude "Immobile" who may likely be going as well. Doesn't seem like much competition to keep Rossi from going.
Serie A game underway right now, with Fiorentina losing at home 3-4 to Sassuolo. Rossi came on in the 65th minute and scored seven minutes later for Fiorentina's 2nd goal. http://www.gazzetta.it/trsport/tempo-reale/Gara.shtml?match_config=717910&comp=21&day=36&anno=2013
I think if he can walk he'll be in the Italy squad. Prandelli likes him and he has beefs with players like Destro.
Rossi came on in the 65th minute today and set up the goal for Cuadrado, giving Fiorentina a 1-0 win at Livorno. The home fans taunted him with chants of "To Brazil in a wheelchair", evoking the wrath of his girlfriend: 465496728272400384 is not a valid tweet id 465505242352992257 is not a valid tweet id

http://www.espnfc.com/blog/_/name/calcioitaliano/id/410?cc=5901 Player of the year: Carlos Tevez, Juventus Up until his injury at the beginning of the 2014, my vote for Player of the Year would have gone to Giuseppe Rossi. Many had wondered whether he would be the same player for Fiorentina that he had been for Villarreal after 18 months out and a series of knee surgeries. The striker's answer was emphatic. Rossi scored 14 goals in 18 league games and at the time, he was Capocannoniere (the league's top scorer) by a distance. His hat trick against Juventus had brought Fiorentina their first win over their rivals at the Artemio Franchi since the winter of 1998. It was one of the moments of the season. He’d make it back before the end of the campaign and score twice in his final four league games, thereby ending the year on 16 in Serie A. Rossi’s total was only three goals short of Carlos Tevez’s even though he spent four months on the sidelines. El Apache, however, has been universally lauded as the Player of the Year in Italy this season.
Italy coach Cesare Prandelli has challenged Antonio Cassano and Giuseppe Rossi to prove they are worthy of a place in his World Cup squad, admitting that he is likely to cut two strikers from his preliminary 30-man squad. The 27-year-old returned for the tail end of the Serie A season, but he still must prove to the Italy coach that he can cope with the strains of a month in Brazil. "He's made it here thanks to his determination and for how much he wanted this call-up," Prandelli said. "In this respect, he's already won, while he's also an example to everybody else on the squad. But now of course we need to see how he is in action. Rossi has extraordinary talent and he's one of the best players Italy have got. "He's right in the running and I don't want him to feel he's being controlled and examined every minute. He shouldn't be anxious. He's one of the 30 and let's see if his condition improves sufficiently." http://www.espnfc.com/news/story/_/...-impress-italy-coach-cesare-prandelli?cc=5901
Cassano in a battle against Rossi for a roster spot....and reports say Cassano has the edge currently. http://www.football-italia.net/49505/cassano-edging-out-rossi
Rossi in 'good shape', Cassano 'fired up' http://www.ansa.it/english/news/201...-up_b3348a04-c66a-4180-adf8-f9df93077cca.html
Is there any way they can both go? I really like both of them as players, although they give you different things. If I had to pick one, I'd go with Rossi. He always scores.
