Im just pissed that he went from a player with a good team, that played his style of socccer, and have a spot at the europa league.... to a team that I have no idea about, nor their style of soccer. I just remember hearing not too great things about the Cyprus league as a player from bolivia was close to going there, Joselito Vaca. I just think he would be better off going to mexico or to brasil but who knows what offers he had. But that coach wants him in Cyprus cause of ties back to Aris, I guess thats ok. With that said, how does spots for the CL work for team from cyprus?
1st team= first qualifying round of CL, 2nd and Cup winner= 2nd qualifying round of EL, 3rd= 1st qualifying round of EL. Anorthosis finished 3rd last season so they will enter EL very soon. 2 qualifying rounds before Aris.
@Bolivianfuego I really understand your anger about this. But we can only hope that this will be good for Nacho and I really wish him the best in his career, he is very loved by Aris fans. EDIT: Anorthosis actually play tomorrow against Banants from Armenia in and if they pass they will play against the winner of Sibenik-Sliema game. I don't think he will have time to play against that Banana team though since it's not official yet.
Which Edu is this? Are you refering to Freddy Adu? Or are you refering to Edu, a much taller American player. Not sure who your refering to.
Not some good news. Is there a chance that he might be able to comeback if his level gets up? if not, there were rumors that a Mexican team wanted his services.
It's official now that he will play for Anorthosis next season. There is also a buy-out clause in his contract. Cuper was not very satisfied with him and Nacho also thought it was a good thing for him to be loaned out cause he wants to play many games now so he doesn't lose his spot in the NT before the Copa America.
That makes sense. I just wish he'd come back to south america or mexico. He'd be easier to watch also!
He would probably have chosen Mexico or South America if it wasn't for Guillermo Hoyos. Nacho said that he is a coach that he knows well and they talk very often. So it's pretty sure that he will be a starter there.
Anorthosis is through the next round of the Europa League. They lost 0-2 at home in the first leg but they came back with a 3-0 away victory. Nacho played in this game but I can't find if he started or if he was subbed in. Apparently it seems that there're two Garcias in this team (according to a sports site with the line ups) and I can't tell which started and which got subbed in later.
Ok I found a video. Nacho started. He's wearing the #5. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O063gV6_Wu4"]YouTube- sibenic-anorthosis 0-3 afieroma www.24sports.com.cy[/ame]
Anorthosis is actually a quite good team. Their coach likes to play a very offensive football. His first pro job was actually at Aris and he is very loved and he loves Aris as well. He does not always bring the best results though He was working at Barcelona before and he played for Boca Juniors I think. Hoyos was actually the one to discover Messi, at least he says that hehe. Anorthosis can be a good experience for Nacho.
Yea, they seem pretty good. As long as he is playing on a competitive team, getting minutes thats all that matters. They are alot better then I would have thought. I hope they do good in the europa league.
Anorthosis lost 1-0 to Cercle Brugge, away from home, on the first leg of the third quallifying round of the Europa league. Nacho didn't play, he wasn't on the bench either. Dunno if he's injured or something.
Nacho's team, Anorthosis, beat Cercle Brugge 3-1 at home (3-2 aggregate), in the second leg of the third quallifying round of the Europa League and they're through to the play offs. Nacho played the whole game. I'll post a video when I find one.
