I do know for a fact the the blast turned a profit & has for the last several years the teams need to find away to share moneys some how . for example the misl runs a online store all items sold should be split between all teams & all cost should be split as well
The BLAST on its own did not lose money. While operating as the BALTIMORE BLAST, it made money. However, when it was part of that single entity, any profits that put the BLAST in the black went to poorly operated teams such as the Chicago Storm. For years, teams like the BLAST and Kixx had to bail out the Storm. That was one of the major sticking points that destroyed MISL2. Mr. Hale said that when it was time to do the league's business (ie paying the bills), that's when the fights would break out. The leader of the renegages, Ignitions' Hantz charmed the other owners into that debacle called the XSL. Adding to that, Mr. Hale reported in the Baltimore Sun (or Examiner) that when the Storm bailed out on the MISL, they also bailed out on a $300,000 loan that he made to them. So you see, when you make a profit and teams like the Chicago Storm are always there with their hands out, how can you make money???? Therefore, it could be the Chicago Magic or the Chicago Giants, it won't work. Even though there should never be another team in Chicago, the good news is, if there is, it won't be a single entity set up. And because it won't be, all I can say is, Fold Baby Fold. SHAME
Holy Moly - how many times are you going to sing the same song. You have been harping for 2 years now on the same subject - get over it and move forward like the rest of the 12 indoor fans If somebody wants to put a team in Chicago and it hits or misses it is their decision & money not yours. Sure you can have an opinion and think that Chicago should not have a team but you have been saying that for years and we know where you stand on it And I do feel that Chicago is right up there with a being a sports town do not fret your empty heart about that - we got it all baby - theatre & sports & education & hotels & entertainment & hobbies & conventions & etc. It is really funny - I look once in awhile and never ever see your name on any news articles for government or sports ownership. Gee I wonder why??
you guys keep this s going...by replying...meanwhile, I am enjoying. If you dont like the guys posting, shut up and ignore...
and lets break this down shall we? " I person" wtf is that? "even when he knows nobody listens..." hmmmmm, you are listening I guess, you even replied I think? shut up...post, dont dogpile Soccer woman just keep saying garbage that nobody believes. I person who keeps reporting the same things even when he knows nobody listens should be in a mental hospital. Do you sleep with Hale ?????
The link said the Blast has been losing money in the past, never said they were or were not making money now or recently (two year old article at least). I know they have made money in the past few years, though last year, the crowds were well down from what they were.
I have been unable to find the article in which Hale (in the last 15 months) said they'd been losing money. Might have been prior to the 2009 NISL final? cardshop said they'd been making money "for the last several years" and that may or may not be the case. If they are making money, it can't be a lot. Nobody does.
well I am glad you respect me enough to reply, and I appreciate his posts because of the talk that happens from them...trust me, this board is better for it. Amongst us 12 fans as Go Storm said...you have to have some drama eh?
Actually, no. Actual information - and not the hysteria and hype and rampant speculation and dumbing-down of the community that comes from him being here and spouting his crap - would be helpful. We don't get that with him. We just don't. And it inevitably sets off another sh**-storm and someone believes that the MISL is going to move into markets vacated by arena football and that the Sharks are coming back and that Chicago doesn't support any kind of soccer and that Rockford and Chicago are the same market and that he broke the Missouri story and "it was true when he said it" and all the other crap he spouts (anonymously, I might add, though everyone knows who he is). We don't need that. We just don't.
lol, yes...I hear you man. But guess what? This board needs energy, even if you think it it offbase. He serves a purpose no?
Is there a word for an unnecessary purpose? Soccer-Man says completely outrageous things, things that have no basis in fact and are easily disproven, and some people take them as gospel. He throws seven things against the wall, one of them sticks and he takes credit for "breaking the story." But I tell you that Milwaukee's not making a profit - far from it - and get disregarded. Tell you what: you get the league you deserve. Enjoy it. Discuss it among yourselves and the fat guy. You all know so much? You figure it out.
All I am saying Kenn, is you and guys like "US" spend time on this board.... Are you here to be a bully? Are you here to enjoy? Are you here to promote indoor soccer or blast it? If we all are here to give each other reach arounds, then great. I think its funny that Soccerman is the hot topic, guess who made him that...you guys who keep pimping it...you dont like what he is saying, then ignore him. He is wrong right? But he keeps you and many others interested....perfect for us "12" indoor fans
I agree with you. Every time he posts some outrageous thought or statement people comment and Soccerman gets what he wants. Its better if nobody ever acknowledges his existence
