The problem is that they are too specific. Basically saying that we can only call players in Brazil and they can only call players in Argentina. It should be any player in Brazil or Argentina.

The problem is also that their best players are playing in Brasil and not in Argentina.

I wish they could call these guys.
Mano needs to get his ass kicked as soon as possible.

Lets see what Mano has up his sleeves this time. Bur hopefully no more Kleber, Paulinho, Renato Abreau..

I would like to see this team:

Jefferson, Bruno Cortes, Dede, Rever, Mario Fernandes, Casemiro, Danilo, Neymar, Ronaldinho, Lucas, Damiao.

Get Rhodolfo in there instead of Rever and you have a team.

I'm looking way ahead but it'd be interesting to see Luis Fabiano in shape and playing well for SPFC, and participating in the 2012 edition of this tournament for Brazil. And to think that would be 2 years after he was in Brazil's starting line up in the World Cup.

Well the striker departement sure is in a low now
and since many years but still I am very sceptical about
Luis Fabiano to be a stable quality scorer, sure he had a period
of great scoring in selecao, but his mentality was always really unreliable,
and he had his chance in the World Cup 2010
(quite invisible against Holland if I remember correctly
but some very important goals in early stage).
Experience is often very important for a striker
so they tend to be their best at older age if not their physics is too bad. Let´s first see if he can come back in a super shape
    that can convince otherwise.
Damiao is promising though perhaps not there yet
and Pato sure is not developing into the player we hoped for.
And even if a younger player will turn up, the idea of an experient
player is very good, even as back-up.

Such a shame with Damiao injured right now.

Atleast it's not that serious, was sure it's more then 20 dyas when he started crying in the backround, but these 3 games were major for him potentially as far as setting his place in stone as a starter... with Pato injured aswell I hope we won't see Fred playing.

    Really devastating!!!
Fragile situation with really only one good option for selecao,
one of the few bright lights now,
and Damiao is just establishing in his first breakthrough season
so this is really really not good, comparison with Pato inevitable…though different
but as You say hopefully not that serious, hopefully it wont effect that much

Pretty good list. Glad to see elkeson and Borges, even though I don't really expect Borges to keep his play up.

Off topic but how do I start editing Santos' BigSoccer wikipage? It tells me I am not allowed for some reason.

    Leonidas,

    1. Diego Souza - wasn't he capped at least once by Dunga? And how integral is he in Vasco's current successful streak?
    2. Elkeson - never heard of the man. But I did see Botafogo defeated Gremio in Porto Alegre. What can you tell me about him?

As for Borges, I am not sure what to expect. I like him - he did well w/ my team and with Gremio too, but earlier this year he played poorly and due to mistakes on his part, Gremio was undermanned and easily eliminated by a Chilean team in Libertadores play. Then, he joins Santos and as of late he's been on fire. I think he deserved this chance, although I doubt he'll even be considered a benchwarmer for the full-time, real NT which will see UEFA-based players.

Hopefully Borges will continue his hot streak and score at least once in the return match.

I also hope to see my boys Casemiro and Lucas play. I also like Oscar's inclusion as well as Danilo from Santos in the back.

Yes re 1 - Diego Souza played against Bolivia in 2009 WCQ and should have scored.

This is an interesting selection. The Argentine management staff has apparently hedged its bets on bringing chunks of their local squads and of Internacional hoping to capitalize on team chemistry. Boca Juniores and Velez Sarsfield provided 5 players each, whereas Estudantes da Prata, racing, and Internacional all gave 3 players.

Without any doubts, the inclusion of Guiñazú, Bolatti, and D'Alessandro will make their team better.

If this match were to happen at the Beira-Rio, I wonder if the Inter fans would root for the Argentines instead. ;)

Oh great Mário Fernandes for whatever reason decided not to show up so we will have to be content with watching Kleber. Will be interested to see what kinda line-up Mano will play tomorrow considering that Paulinho and Renato are out. MAYBE and a big MAYBE Mano will get his head out of his a$$ and play Lucas. Casemiro deserves a start in the middle as well imo.

Not so much that people would root for Argentina but against Mano's seleNIKE rather.
